🩺 Dry Gangrene in a Young Patient: A Silent Threat Unveiled
📍 Case from Allied Hospital, Faisalabad

Swipe to see the clinical image ➡️

👩‍⚕️ A 41-year-old female presented with dry gangrene of the left little finger. The patient had been experiencing chronic, neglected pain in the left upper limb, but due to the gradual development of collateral circulation, major ischemic symptoms were masked.

📊 CT Angiography Findings:
• ✅ Normal opacification of left subclavian & axillary arteries
• ⚠️ Moderate luminal narrowing in the brachial artery
• 🚨 Acute thrombotic occlusion of brachial artery (4.2 cm segment)
• 💉 Radial & ulnar arteries were perfused via collaterals

📌 Takeaway for Clinicians:
Delayed recognition of arterial occlusion can lead to progressive ischemia and eventual gangrene, even when distal perfusion appears preserved.

🧠 Always listen to chronic pain—it might be vascular in origin. Early vascular imaging can prevent irreversible damage.

🧵✨ Tiny Lip, Big Care.
A 2-year-old presented with a clean upper lip laceration.
Sutured with Vicryl 2-0 — because even with limited resources, precision and compassion go a long way. Every stitch matters — especially on a child’s smile. 😊

🔍 Case of the Day 🔍
A 22-year-old young male presented with a painless swelling just above his left knee. Clinical examination and intraoperative findings revealed an epidermoid cyst — a benign, well-encapsulated lesion arising from the skin’s epithelial elements.

🗡️ Successfully excised today under aseptic conditions.
😊 Patient went home happily and comfortably post-procedure.

🧴 Epidermoid cysts are common, slow-growing, and typically harmless — but can sometimes enlarge, cause discomfort, or raise cosmetic concerns, prompting removal.

✅ Complete excision is the key to prevent recurrence.
