Speech Series 4 is here — and this one might change everything for you. 💙
We see it every day.
A mom sitting with her child, holding his face, trying so hard —
“Look at me. Say mama. Say mama. SAY MAMA.”
And the child pulls away.
Mama — it’s not your fault.
But we need to talk about why this isn’t working. 🛑
In this reel our therapists break down the 4 most important things about speech development in autism:
Clip 1 — Stop forcing “say mama.” Forcing speech before readiness builds anxiety, not language. Your child isn’t being stubborn. The brain just needs the right steps first.
Clip 2 — We as parents skip the entire foundation. Before speech comes structure. Joint attention. Eye contact. Receptive language. We never build any of it — and jump straight to “say mama, say baba.” That’s like building a roof with no walls. 🏗️
Clip 3 — The next step is Tact — teaching your child to label the world around them. We follow their attention and give it a name. This is how words begin. 🏷️
