The visit of to the School of Dentistry (SOD), Islamabad, marked an important moment of recognition for the institution’s clinical excellence and administrative standards.

During his visit, the Honorable Governor toured multiple clinical departments, where he was briefed on the advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities available to patients. Greenovation Day Celebrated at School of Dentistry, SZABMU Islamabad: Advancing Sustainability in Dental Education
The School of Dentistry at Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University proudly hosted Greenovation Day, a vibrant and impactful event marking the culmination of a pioneering project on environmental sustainability in undergraduate dental education.
Organized collaboratively by the Department of Community Dentistry and the Department of Medical Education, the event reflected a shared commitment to integrating sustainable practices into dental training. The initiative was the vision of Dr. Nighat Zia, whose efforts were strongly supported by Head of Department Dr. Farooq Ahmed Chaudhary . The event was conducted in close collaboration with the Department of Medical Education, with Dr. Ayesha Fazal playing a key coordinating role.

MOU signing ceremony between HITEC Dental College and SOD SZABMU Islamabad for mutual collaboration and joint working in Academics, Research and Faculty Development Programs of both institutions under the umbrella of SZABMU. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Tanwir Khaliq VC SZABMU, Prof. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed ex chairman HEC, Prof. Dr. Irfan Shah Principal HITEC Dental College, Vice Principal HITEC Dental College Prof. Waheed and Prof. Dr. Beenish Dean Clinical HITEC Dental College.
Prof. Dr. Bilal Ahmed Principal School of Dentistry along with senior Faculty members were also present with senior admin Staff of SOD SZABMU.

Federal Minister for National Health Services, Syed Mustafa Kamal, while addressing the School of Dentistry at Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto University, Islamabad, said that Pakistan’s medical system is currently facing serious challenges, and to overcome these challenges, effective and result-oriented measures in a short period of time are unavoidable.

He clearly stated that healthcare does not begin with hospitals, but with clean water, effective sewerage treatment, preventive measures, and protection from diseases. He said that contaminated water is the basic cause of 70 percent of diseases, and that prevention is better than treatment.

The Department of Operative Dentistry & Endodontics, School of Dentistry, SZABMU Islamabad held FCPS Part-II TOACS Mock Examination on 19 November 2025. The session strengthened candidates’ diagnostic reasoning, clinical skills, and procedural preparedness in line with CPSP standards. The session was followed by feedback and discussion of every station by the panel of examiners.
Trainees from all over the country participated with great enthusiasm.The event was further enriched by the presence of seasoned FCPS Part-II supervisors from Rawalpindi and Islamabad, whose expertise added great value to the learning experience.
The event was successfully organized under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Nouman Noor, Head of Operative Dentistry & Endodontics, followed by the dedicated teamwork and supervision of Dr. Huma Farid, Associate Professor, and Dr. Muhammad Ahmed, Assistant Professor.
Dr. Haris’s meticulous arrangement of stations made the activity meaningful and impactful.
