lat University which is an HEC recognized, federally chartered University. Located at the newly purpose built Park Road Campus, DBS is wellpositioned to become an innovative center focused on education, research and industrial applications. BS Biotechnology, BS Microbiology and MS Applied Biosciences programs have been developed in line with the Higher Education Commission guidelines to train the undergraduates and graduates who can be an important component of the academia and industry. The educational programs at DBS have been designed to fulfill the current needs with regard to professionalism, marketability, employability, and entrepreneurship. The Department strategy going forward is based on:

1. Introduction to Department of Biosciences Maintenance of strength in traditional areas of expertise;
2. Building on emerging areas of Biosciences to establish new foci;
3. Filling gaps by providing broad training in the modern discipline of Biosciences. In particular, meeting the needs of professional programs and evolving teaching and research programs in other units and Faculties;
4. Featuring the convergence of modern Biosciences; areas that might traditionally have been quite distinct are sharing more and more technical and conceptual overlap
