🦵 **MENISCUS TEAR = SURGERY? NOT ALWAYS.**
A meniscus injury can sound scary, especially when you see the word **“tear”** on an MRI report.
But the treatment isn’t decided by the word *tear* alone.
It depends on several factors, including:
🔹 How large/severe the tear is
🔹 Where the tear is located
🔹 Your symptoms and how severe they are
🔹 Your age and activity level
🔹 How much it is affecting your daily activities
Many patients can improve with appropriate physiotherapy, including better pain control, improved muscle strength, and a gradual return to normal activities.
However, if your knee is **repeatedly locking**, the tear is severe, or your daily function is significantly affected, surgical management may sometimes be considered.
👉 **The important point:** Don’t decide on surgery just because your MRI says “meniscus tear.”
**Get a proper assessment first, understand your condition, and then choose an evidence-based treatment approach.**
📌 Save this if you or someone you know has a meniscus injury.
📤 Share it with someone who thinks every meniscus tear requires surgery.
