𧩠Autism Myths vs. Facts | Letβs Build Understanding
Misinformation about autism can create unnecessary stigma and misunderstanding. Accurate information helps us better understand, respect, and support autistic children and their families. π
β Myth: Autism is caused by poor parenting.
β
Fact: Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition β it is not caused by parenting style.
β Myth: Autistic children cannot communicate or learn.
β
Fact: Autistic children have different strengths and support needs, and many can develop meaningful communication, learning, and daily-living skills with appropriate support.
β Myth: Every autistic child is the same.
β
Fact: Autism is a spectrum. Every child has a unique profile of strengths, challenges, preferences, and support needs.
At SABIR Speech & Autism Center, we believe that awareness should go beyond labels β toward understanding, acceptance, individualized support, and meaningful development. π±
π Understand the difference. Respect the individual. Support the journey.
