Health Services Academy (HSA) and Pak one Health Alliance, in collaboration with the Institute of Public Health (IPH), successfully concluded the two-day Consultative Workshop on “One Health Workforce Development for Managing Emerging Infectious Diseases” at the Institute of Public Health, Lahore.

The workshop brought together public health experts, policymakers, academia, and development partners to strengthen Pakistan's One Health workforce and enhance preparedness for emerging infectious diseases. The second day featured expert-led sessions on One Health governance, surveillance, infection prevention and control, pandemic preparedness, and policy implementation, followed by interactive group work and policy recommendations to strengthen multisectoral collaboration.

The closing ceremony was graced by Madam Rushda Lodhi, Parliamentary Secretary, as chief guest. Certificates and shields were presented to participants and resource persons in recognition of their valuable contributions, marking the successful conclusion of the workshop and reaffirming the collective commitment to advancing the One Health agenda in Pakistan.

The workshop brought together public health experts, policymakers, academia, and development partners to strengthen Pakistan's One Health workforce and preparedness for emerging infectious diseases.

The inaugural session featured Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan Vice Chancellor Health services Academy, Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal Dean, IPH Lahore. Prof. Dr. Tariq Mahmood Ali National Coordinator (One Health) and Dr. S.M. Mursalin CEO POHA who emphasized the importance of Coordination, collaboration, capacity building, and an integrated One Health approach. The first day concluded with technical sessions and policy discussions, reinforcing the shared commitment to building a stronger, more resilient public health system for Pakistan.
