I couldn’t make out what I was going through, I thought it was just a fever, but it turned out to be a bacterial infection I had never heard of in my life. Reason was the fresh milk I had recently started getting from a new farm thinking Fresh milk has benefits and is better than boxed milk, little did I know I was paying to get a bacterial disease that was going to get stuck with me for life. Brucellosis is preventable, avoid unpasteurised dairy, cook your meat well and try not to get in contact with infected animals. Please remember Awareness can prevent suffering.

World Sick Day.

Some of us don’t get sick days.
We get sick lives.

There’s no calling in.
No switching off.
No break from a body that doesn’t cooperate.

Chronic illness is waking up already exhausted no matter how much we sleep.
It’s pretending you’re okay because explaining is more tiring than the pain.
It’s smiling in photos while calculating your next dose of medicine.
It’s grieving the old you, the easy you, the version of you that didn’t have to plan life around symptoms.

People see the filtered moments.
They don’t see the flares.
The IV lines.
The 3am breakdowns.
The fear of “what if this gets worse?”

World Sick Day isn’t aesthetic.
It’s survival.

So if you’re carrying an invisible illness, an autoimmune disease, chronic migraine, chronic pain
and you’re still here… still trying…
That’s strength nobody claps for.
And I see you.
