The 12 cranial nerves, labeled with Roman numerals (I-XII), each serve specific functions such as controlling eye movements, facial expressions, hearing, and swallowing.

The emergence of the skull is represented for each nerve.

Understanding these nerves is crucial in medical fields like neurology, neurosurgery and neurointensivism, helping professionals diagnose and treat disorders related to nerve damage or dysfunction.

Both Carpal Tunnel and Cubital Tunnel involve the compression of a nerve through a narrow passageway, and both can cause pain, tingling, numbness and weakness in the hand. Both conditions can also weaken the hand and make everyday tasks more difficult or even dangerous.

It is quite common for patients to have both cubital and carpal tunnel at the same time. It is also common for the conditions to be present in both arms at the same time. When patients have numbness in all the fingers of the hand we need to examine and test for both cubital and carpal tunnel syndromes

(Carpal tunnel syndrome) involves pinching of the nerve at the level of the wrist, whereas (cubital tunnel syndrome) is pinching of the nerve at the level of the elbow.

Tarlov cysts are fluid-filled sacs that form on the nerve roots of the spine, particularly in the lower back (sacral area). People can have multiple cysts of different sizes, which may cause symptoms depending on their location and size. Larger cysts are more likely to trigger symptoms, including nerve pain, numbness, loss of bladder and bowel control, impotence, and rare leg weakness. Even small, symptomless cysts can grow over time and eventually cause issues. The exact reason for Tarlov cysts is unknown, but they might result from abnormal nerve sheath development.

clinical tip
Relation between tight of illopsoas and back pain
Line of force of muscle is divided into two parts
compression and leaning forward
This varies depending on position of pelvic
In neutral there is no tight
In case of lumber lordosis anterior pelvic tilt The direction of the force is greater toward leaning forward more than compression
In case of flat back posterior pelvic tilt The direction of the force is greater toward compression more than leaning forward
