A productive meeting was held between the CDC-1 HIV/AIDS Sindh team and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) 🌍 to discuss a joint activity in District Keamari, Karachi 📍, focused on HIV screening 🩺, community advocacy 📣, education 📚, and awareness 💡.

The session was chaired by Dr. Kanwal Mustafa Soomro, Additional Director, CDC HIV/AIDS Sindh.

🌟 To mark this important milestone, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐚, 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐃𝐂 𝐇𝐈𝐕/𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐒 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐡, visited the OAMT Centre along with her team 👩‍⚕️👥 and reviewed the services being provided to people who use drugs. 🏥💙

🤝 The center aims to provide accessible, confidential and supportive services, helping individuals connect with appropriate treatment, care and prevention services. 🫶🔐💊

A productive TB-HIV collaborative meeting was held to strengthen coordination between TB and HIV/AIDS programs in Sindh 🇵🇰. The discussion focused on improving the integration of services 🔗, ensuring timely screening and diagnosis 🔬, effective referrals 📋, and access to comprehensive care 💙 for patients.

🏥✨ A HISTORIC STEP TOWARDS REHABILITATION & PUBLIC HEALTH IN SINDH! ✨🏥
📅 3rd August 2026 marked an important milestone as the Opioid Agonist Maintenance Treatment (OAMT) Center was officially inaugurated at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Karachi! 🎉🇵🇰

💙 This center represents a new ray of hope for individuals battling drug dependency and opioid addiction. 🌱

🩺 Through open-door, modern medical care, treatment, counseling, and rehabilitation support, the center aims to help individuals on their journey toward recovery, dignity, and rebuilding their lives. 🤝✨

Monitring, supervision, and meeting sessions lead by Respected Dr kanwal Mustafa Additional Directer CDC-1 HIV/AIDS Sindh.
Another important step forward under the visionary leadership of Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho Sahiba, Honourable Minister Health & Population Department, Government of Sindh, whose commitment continues to strengthen quality, sustainability, and innovation in public health services across Sindh.

A high-level supervision and monitoring visit along with a strategic meeting was held at JPMC Karachi by Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Gorar, National Coordinator CMU Pakistan, Dr. Zubair Abdullah, National HIV Program Manager CMU Pakistan, Dr. Kanwal Mustafa, Additional/Program Director CDC-I HIV/AIDS Sindh, Dr. Ghulam Ali Bozdar, Deputy Director CDC-I Sindh, and Dr. Ali Raza Kandhro, Provincial Treatment Coordinator CDC-I Sindh, with the leadership of Dr. Khalid Sher, Executive Director JPMC, and his team.

The meeting focused on OAMT services, COBAS-based Viral Load testing mechanism, and sustainability of HIV/AIDS services. Productive discussions were held on the operational mechanism for Buprenorphine dispensing, monitoring, safety, security, and custodianship through the nominated pharmacist at JPMC. The delegation also visited the OAMT site, which was highly appreciated as a well-prepared and standardized facility for service delivery.

The visit concluded with a policy-level discussion with the Respected Fawqd soomro sahab Special Secretary, Health Department, Government of Sindh, reaffirming collective commitment towards strengthening HIV/AIDS response, institutional collaboration, and sustainable patient-centered services across Sindh.
