A delegation of the Joint Action Committee (JAC), comprising representatives of YDA Sindh and PMA Sindh, held a detailed meeting with the Secretary Health, Tahir Hussain Sangi, to discuss pressing issues concerning healthcare professionals and the public health sector in Sindh.
The delegation included:
Dr. Omer Sultan – Patron-in-Chief, YDA Sindh
Dr. Waris Jakhrani President, YDA Sindh
Dr. M. Khan Shar President, PMA Sindh
Dr. Zeeshan Saeedi Senior Vice President, YDA Sindh.
The meeting was conducted in a constructive and professional environment, where the JAC presented its Charter of Demands aimed at strengthening the healthcare delivery system and improving service conditions for medical professionals.
Key Agenda Points Discussed:
1.Restoration of Health Risk Allowance
2.Health Professional Allowance
Increase in Health Professional Allowance to at least one basic salary
3.Upgradation of Healthcare Facilities
Strengthening secondary and tertiary care hospitals through provision of essential diagnostic and therapeutic facilities, including functionalization of laboratories and CT scan services.
4.Increase in Dental SNE Posts
Expansion of sanctioned dental posts across Sindh.
5.Implementation of Deputation Policy
Immediate enforcement of the already announced deputation policy along with a transparent and structured induction process for newly appointed Medical Officers.
6.Third-Party Audit of PPHI & NGOs
Independent audit of PPHI and other NGOs operating public health facilities to ensure transparency and accountability, and suspension of further privatization until proper accountability mechanisms are established.
7.Health Insurance Policy for Healthcare Professionals.
8.Implementation of the Four-Tier Formula.
9.Regularisation of service of remaining COVID doctors.
The JAC emphasized that these demands are not personal benefits but necessary systemic reforms for strengthening public healthcare delivery in Sindh. Addressing these issues will enhance morale among healthcare professionals, improve patient care standards, and ultimately benefit the people of the province.
The Secretary Health appreciated the delegation for their constructive approach and assured that the department would review the demands and work collaboratively for improvement of the health sector.
