In an analysis of 69 patients with confirmed clade 1 mpox infection during pregnancy, fetal loss occurred in 31; of the 38 live births, four had mpox-like lesions, and one died shortly after birth.

Adverse outcomes were more likely if infection occurred in the first compared with third trimester. The risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes appears to be lower with clade 2 mpox infection.

Stopping glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1)-based therapy may lead to weight regain and loss of cardiovascular benefit. In an observational study of mostly male patients, those who used GLP-1 therapy for three years had a reduced risk of major cardiovascular events.

However, the risk of major cardiovascular events did not differ between patients taking sulfonylurea versus those who discontinued GLP-1 treatment within 1.5 years or had a treatment interruption of ≥1.5 years.

Jehovah's Witnesses generally accept medical care but decline certain blood transfusions, including stored autologous blood, even at risk of death.
A recent clarification from their governing body states that each individual must make their own decision about the use of their blood in medical and surgical care.

In the prospective Nurses' Health Study and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study, incident dementia in participants with the highest quartile of caffeinated coffee intake was lower than in the lowest quartile (141 versus 330 cases per 100,000 person-years).

Results were similar for tea but not for decaffeinated coffee. Moderate caffeine consumption of two to three cups of coffee per day is unlikely to be harmful and may lower dementia risk.
