At Karachi Institute of Kidney Diseases Association (KIKDA), the Dialysis Unit is a lifeline for patients suffering from kidney failure. Every day, more than 170 patients receive dialysis treatment free of cost, giving them the chance to continue their lives with dignity and hope.
For patients with chronic kidney disease, dialysis is not a choice — it is a necessity for survival. Many of these patients come from underprivileged backgrounds and cannot afford the high cost of regular dialysis sessions. At KIKDA, with the support of compassionate donors, these treatments are provided completely free of charge.

کراچی انسٹیٹیوٹ آف کڈنی ڈیزیزز ایسوسی ایشن ایک فلاحی طبی ادارہ ہے جو مستحق اور نادار مریضوں کو مفت اور معیاری طبی سہولیات فراہم کرنے کے لیے قائم کیا گیا ہے۔ مخیر حضرات کے تعاون سے یہ ادارہ روزانہ ہزاروں مریضوں کی خدمت کر رہا ہے اور ان کے لیے امید کی کرن بنا ہوا ہے۔
ادارے میں قائم ڈائیلاسز یونٹ میں روزانہ 170 سے زائد مریضوں کو مفت ڈائیلاسز فراہم کیا جاتا ہے، جبکہ یورولوجی ڈیپارٹمنٹ میں گردے کی پتھری کی سرجریز اور لیتھوٹرپسی کے ذریعے جدید علاج کیا جاتا ہے۔
واسکولر سرجری ڈیپارٹمنٹ میں ڈائیلاسز مریضوں کے لیے اے وی فسٹولا کی تیاری اور دیگر واسکولر بیماریوں کا علاج کیا جاتا ہے، جبکہ پیچیدہ مریضوں کے لیے جدید آئی سی یو کی سہولت بھی موجود ہے۔
مریضوں کی تشخیص کے لیے لیبارٹری ڈیپارٹمنٹ میں مفت ٹیسٹ اور تشخیصی سہولیات فراہم کی جاتی ہیں، جبکہ سنٹرل اسٹور کے ذریعے داخل مریضوں اور ڈائیلاسز مریضوں کو مفت ادویات فراہم کی جاتی ہیں۔
ہسپتال میں صفائی اور جراثیم سے پاک ماحول کو یقینی بنانے کے لیے سی ایس ایس ڈی ڈیپارٹمنٹ فعال ہے، جبکہ او پی ڈی اور کنسلٹنٹ کلینکس میں ماہر ڈاکٹرز مریضوں کا معائنہ اور رہنمائی فراہم کرتے ہیں۔

یومِ تکبیر کے موقع پر KIKDA کے صدر نے اپنے پیغام میں کہا ہے کہ 28 مئی 1998 پاکستان کی تاریخ کا وہ عظیم دن ہے جب پوری قوم نے اتحاد، خودداری اور قومی سلامتی کے جذبے کے تحت دنیا کو واضح پیغام دیا کہ پاکستان اپنی آزادی، خودمختاری اور دفاع پر کبھی سمجھوتہ نہیں کرے گا۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ یومِ تکبیر صرف ایٹمی دھماکوں کی یاد نہیں بلکہ قومی وقار، سائنسی ترقی، قومی اتحاد اور مضبوط دفاع کی علامت ہے۔

آج کے دن ہمیں اپنے سائنسدانوں، افواجِ پاکستان اور اُن تمام قومی ہیروز کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کرنا چاہیے جنہوں نے پاکستان کو ناقابلِ تسخیر بنایا۔

انہوں نے کہا کہ ہم ایک مضبوط، خودمختار، باوقار اور ترقی یافتہ پاکستان کے وژن پر یقین رکھتےہیں، جہاں قومی سلامتی کے ساتھ عوامی خوشحالی بھی یقینی ہو۔

We were honored to welcome Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi, Dr. Col. Altaf, and Dr. Jawaid Akram to the Karachi Institute of Kidney Diseases Association (KIKDA) on Saturday, 9 May 2026.

During the visit, the respected guests were briefed about KIKDA’s ongoing efforts in providing free-of-cost, quality healthcare services to kidney patients and underprivileged communities. They visited various departments of the hospital, appreciated the institution’s commitment towards patient care, and shared valuable insights for the further improvement and advancement of healthcare services.

Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi appreciated the services being provided by KIKDA and assured that he would extend his full support to KIKDA in every possible way for the betterment of patient care and welfare services.

On the occasion of International Nurses Day, the Karachi Institute of Kidney Diseases Association proudly celebrated and acknowledged the dedication, compassion, and tireless efforts of its nursing and paramedical staff. The event featured a certificate distribution and cake-cutting ceremony in recognition of their invaluable contribution to patient care and healthcare services.

During the ceremony, Dr. Khurram Daniel, Incharge KIKD Hospital, highlighted the vital role of nurses in the healthcare system and appreciated their commitment, professionalism, and humanitarian services. At the conclusion of the event, certificates of appreciation were distributed among the nursing and paramedical staff as a token of gratitude and recognition for their outstanding services.
