Do lions dream just like humans?

Research shows that lions and many other animals enter the REM sleep phase—the stage where dreams occur. This means lions can actually experience dreams similar to humans.

But what do they see?
Scientists believe animals often replay their daily experiences in dreams. So if a lion faced danger or hunted during the day, it might relive those moments while sleeping. 125pm

Such behavior may appear harsh, but in predator life, removing future competition can increase the survival chances of one’s own pride.

Among top predators, survival is not only about hunting prey — but also about managing rivals.

Encounters between lions and hyenas are shaped by competition, not random aggression.

Both species rely on the same prey and territories, and their rivalry often turns deadly when opportunities arise. By injuring or killing the young of competing predators, lions reduce future competition for food and space in their territory.

In this case, the lion attacks the cub not for food, but to weaken a rival clan’s future strength. Fewer surviving competitors mean fewer challenges when defending kills or territory later on.

In 2018, a New Jersey woman named Kate McClure ran out of gas late at night on a highway. A homeless veteran, Johnny Bobbitt Jr., saw her stranded and used his last $20 to buy her fuel so she could get home safely. He didn't ask for anything in return-he just wanted to make sure she wasn't in danger. Deeply moved, Kate and her partner started a fundraiser to help Johnny rebuild his life. The story went viral, and thousands of people donated. Although later events around the fundraiser became complicated, Johnny's original act remains a genuine moment of selfless kindness-a man with almost nothing giving the little he had to help a stranger in need.

The African Wild Dog is one of the most efficient hunters in the animal kingdom, relying on teamwork and endurance to bring down prey across the African savannah. However, their success often attracts unwanted attention from one of Africa’s most formidable scavengers and predators — the Spotted Hyena.

Hyenas possess incredibly strong jaws and a fearless attitude, often attempting to steal kills from other predators. When these two species meet, intense confrontations can erupt as wild dogs try to defend their meal while hyenas attempt to overpower them.

Who do you think has the advantage in this legendary savannah rivalry?
