How long does it take to recover from slip disc with Physiotherapy
Daily activity adjustments:
1) Never sit straight up from a lying position
2) Avoid heavy lifting or intense stretching
3) Instead of leaning over the sink, keep your back straight and use one hand to support your weight on the counter, or slightly bend at the knees.
4) Set a timer. Every 20 minutes, stand up and walk for 60 seconds. This restores blood flow and changes the loading pattern on the disc.
5) Use a rolled-up towel or a dedicated lumbar pillow in the small of your back to maintain the natural inward curve (lordosis
6) Ensure your screen is at eye level so you aren't "turtling" your neck forward which creates a kinetic chain of tension down your spine.
7) Place a pillow between your knees to keep your hips, pelvis, and spine in alignment.
8) This position usually forces the neck to turn and arches the back, putting direct pressure on the discs.
