With every beat, the human heart generates a surge of pressure strong enough to push blood nearly 30 feet, or about 9 meters.
This force comes from the powerful contraction of the left ventricle, the heart’s main pumping chamber.
As it squeezes, oxygen-rich blood is propelled into the aorta and distributed throughout the entire body.
The pressure must be high enough to overcome gravity and resistance within the blood vessels.
This remarkable strength allows the heart to continuously supply every organ and tissue with the oxygen they need to survive.
