Eyes /B-Scan Ultrasound DR. M BILAL (AUDS) (2026)

An eye ultrasound (ocular echography) is a safe, painless, non-invasive imaging test that uses sound waves to picture the inside of the eye. It is used when doctors cannot see inside clearly due to cataracts, bleeding, or swelling.

Main UsesFinding retinal detachments or tears.Detecting tumors and measuring their size.Spotting bleeding or objects trapped inside the eye.Checking the optic nerve.How It WorksA-scan: Measures the length of the eye, often used before cataract surgery.

B-scan: Creates a 2D moving picture of the eye's internal structures.Numbing drops may be used, or a probe with gel is placed gently over your closed eyelid.The doctor will ask you to look in different directions during the scan.
