SECOND BARIATRIC MILESTONE AT PRTH ✨

On 26 August 2026, Surgical Unit-I, Punjab Rangers Teaching Hospital successfully performed its second Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy on a female patient weighing 167 kg, with a BMI of 72 kg/m² and associated Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

Having undergone multiple pharmacological therapies for obesity without achieving satisfactory results, the patient was carefully evaluated and successfully underwent sleeve gastrectomy.

Performed under the supervision of Col (R). Dr. Malik Saeed Awan, this achievement reflects the continued commitment of Surgical Unit-I to innovation, advanced minimally invasive surgery, and transforming the lives of patients struggling with severe obesity.

Initially four areas are focused and will plan soon for new House Officers who will be joining from next month, as a CPD activity with different Skills, basically required during House Job and for advance progression.
