ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف پیڈیاٹرک سرجری، سر گنگا رام ہسپتال لاہور کی جانب سے ہمیں خوشی ہے کہ ہم بچے میں Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) کی کامیاب سرجری اور بحفاظت ڈسچارج کی خوشخبری شیئر کر رہے ہیں۔

Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia ایک پیچیدہ پیدائشی بیماری ہے جس میں ڈایافرام میں نقص کی وجہ سے پیٹ کے اعضا سینے میں چلے جاتے ہیں، جس سے پھیپھڑوں کی نشوونما متاثر ہوتی ہے (pulmonary hypoplasia) اور شدید سانس کی تکلیف پیدا ہو سکتی ہے۔
یہ بیماری اکثر شدید نیونٹل ایمرجنسی کے طور پر سامنے آتی ہے اور اس میں
• ventilatory support
• pulmonary hypertension management
• اور carefully timed surgical repair
کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے۔

اس کیس میں بروقت تشخیص، مناسب stabilization، اور ماہر سرجیکل مداخلت کے بعد کامیاب repair کیا گیا، جس کے بعد مریض نے بتدریج recovery کی اور اب صحت مند حالت میں گھر جا چکا ہے۔

Outcome:
اگرچہ CDH ایک high-risk condition ہے، لیکن بروقت اور multidisciplinary care کے ساتھ survival اور outcomes میں نمایاں بہتری ممکن ہے۔

We are proud to share the successful surgical management and discharge of a pt diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) at the Department of Paediatric Surgery, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Lahore.

About the condition:
CDH is a complex congenital anomaly characterized by a defect in the diaphragm, allowing abdominal organs to herniate into the thoracic cavity. This leads to pulmonary hypoplasia and pulmonary hypertension, making it one of the most challenging neonatal surgical emergencies.

Alhamdulillah, another milestone achieved at the Department of Paediatric Surgery, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore.

A case of Choledochal Cyst Excision with Roux-en-Y Hepaticojejunostomy has been successfully managed and discharged.

This reflects our growing capability in handling complex hepatobiliary cases with dedication, precision, and teamwork.

Grateful to our Paediatric Surgery team, Anesthesia team, PICU staff, and OT staff for their relentless efforts.

Alhamdulillah, a proud milestone for the Department of Paediatric Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore.

Our first case of Esophageal Atresia with Tracheoesophageal Fistula (EA/TEF) repair has been successfully discharged.

This challenging case involved a 1.5 kg neonate, managed with meticulous surgical technique, vigilant post-operative care, and seamless teamwork.

This achievement reflects the growing capability and commitment of our department, which is now actively managing complex neonatal and paediatric surgical cases with dedicated infrastructure.

We are deeply grateful to our pediatric surgery team, anesthesia colleagues, NICU Team, and nursing team for their tireless efforts.

Moments like these define our journey and strengthen our resolve to provide the best possible care to our smallest patients.

A**l fissure is a common condition in infants and toddlers, often caused by constipation and hard stool.

Early recognition and simple treatments like stool softeners, warm sitz baths, and proper diet can help children recover quickly and prevent complications.

If your child has painful defecation, bleeding, or persistent constipation, consult a doctor early.
