🦠*WHO’s African Region strengthens Ebola response*
🚨 Africa CDC and WHO have launched a joint plan to help countries prepare for and respond to the current Ebola outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus.
*The goal is to raise US$ 518 million over the next six months to support:*
🔍 Early detection of cases
🧪 Laboratory testing
🏥 Safe treatment and care
👨⚕️ Protection of health workers
🤝 Community engagement and education
🌍 Cross-border coordination
*Why does this matter?* Ebola can spread quickly, making rapid action essential to save lives and prevent outbreaks from growing.
👥 *Communities play a vital role.* Seeking care early, reporting symptoms, following public health advice, and supporting contact tracing can help stop transmission.
🏥 The plan also aims to strengthen health systems so countries can better respond not only to Ebola, but also to other health threats such as cholera, measles and mpox.
🌟 One outbreak can affect many communities, but working together can make a difference. Preparedness today helps protect lives tomorrow.
