MC deliberats on critical executive, clinical and academic matters
Date: May 14/2026
The Management Committee of the Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) Mardan held a meeting at the Bacha Khan Medical College conference room to deliberate on critical executive, clinical and academic matters.
The session, chaired by Dean and CEO MTI Mardan Professor Dr. Jawad Ahmad, brought together the institution's top leadership to streamline operational efficiencies and enhance patient care services and academic activities across its constituent units.
The meeting was attended by Hospital Director Brigadier (Retd) Dr. Muhammad Abrar Khan, Medical Director Professor Dr. Muhammad Said, Dean of Bacha Khan Dental College Professor Dr. Munir Khan, Associate Professor Farhat Rehman, Director Human Resources Abidur Rehman, Acting Director Finance Syed Aamir Jamal and Acting Nursing Director Noor Zada.
A primary focus of the discussion was the resolution of long-standing operational hurdles within the Cath lab. The committee reached a formal consensus to clear the outstanding liabilities of the Cath Lab, a move designed to settle a lingering issue that has impacted the facility for some time.
Hospital Director Brigadier (Retd) Dr. Muhammad Abrar Khan said that the Cath Lab remains a cornerstone of the institution’s clinical services, providing essential interventions for patients with complex cardiovascular complications. He reaffirmed that any issues hampering the full-scale operations of the lab will be addressed on a priority basis to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
In addition to clinical concerns, the forum engaged in detailed deliberations regarding the safety and security of the institution’s staff and students.
The Hospital Director briefed the committee on a comprehensive plan to fortify the security apparatus and improve the living conditions within the hostels. To institutionalize these efforts, the forum agreed to strengthening of the Security Department for the entire MTI Mardan. This initiative is aimed to centralize security protocols and provide a safer environment for both healthcare providers and the public.
In light of rising utility costs on account of electricity tariffs, the committee expressed strong support for the solarization of the institution. This initiative aims to transition the institution toward renewable energy, thereby safeguarding precious hospital resources that are currently diverted toward heavy electricity expenditures. By adopting solar energy, MTI Mardan intends to redirect these savings back into patient care and clinical innovation.
The forum also agreed to setup a cafeteria for faculty, students and staff of MTI Mardan.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from all administrative heads to execute these strategic decisions promptly, ensuring that MTI Mardan continues to evolve as a premier healthcare provider in the region.
