Saving one life is like saving humanity." — This wasn't just a quote for me; it became a responsibility after completing the 2-day intensive Rescue 1122 Training Workshop organized under the government of Gilgit-Baltistan! 🏔️❤️
Hi everyone, I’m Sidra Abbas, a student at GBIST. Over the past two days, my fellow students and I had the privilege of undergoing hands-on emergency response training conducted by the dedicated trainers of Rescue 1122 Gilgit-Baltistan.
What We Learned:
🔹 First Aid & CPR: Essential practical techniques to stabilize medical emergencies before reaching the hospital.
🔹 Fire Safety & Control: Managing unexpected fire hazards quickly and safely.
🔹 Disaster Management: Preparedness for natural and local emergencies—vital for our mountainous region.
🔹 Emergency Handling: Staying calm, active, and decisive during crucial gold-standard response times.
Living in Gilgit-Baltistan, where climate and terrain often pose unique emergency challenges, having basic life-saving skills is crucial for every student and youth. This training not only boosted my confidence but made me realize that youth empowerment goes far beyond the classroom—it starts with community care.
Huge thanks to the Rescue 1122 GB Team and GBIST Management for arranging such a valuable experience! 🙌
Let’s build a safer, resilient, and life-saving community together. 💪✨
