What does hands-on training actually mean?

It means getting behind the ultrasound machine and putting your skills into practice — with experienced trainers there to guide you, discuss your findings, and help you refine your scanning technique.

At Fetal Cardio Cracow 2026, hands-on sessions are designed to help you:

🫀 improve probe handling and imaging technique
🫀 practise systematic fetal heart assessment
🫀 optimise your ultrasound and Doppler settings
🫀 recognise and interpret cardiac findings
🫀 discuss your approach directly with experienced specialists

With a maximum of 5 participants per ultrasound machine, the practical sessions are designed to give you meaningful time at the scanner — not simply time watching someone else scan.

Because diagnostic confidence doesn't come from watching more images.

🫀 Meet Our Ambassador | Dr. Coşkun Ümit (Türkiye)

We are delighted to introduce Dr. Coşkun Ümit, Perinatologist from Ankara, Türkiye, as one of the Ambassadors of Fetal Cardio Cracow 2026.

Dr. Ümit is actively involved in fetal medicine and prenatal ultrasound, with a particular interest in fetal imaging, prenatal diagnosis, and continuous medical education. As a member of ISUOG, The Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF), The Turkish Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Perinatology, and the Fetal Brain Society, he is committed to advancing excellence in fetal medicine through international collaboration.

As an Ambassador of Fetal Cardio Cracow 2026, Dr. Ümit will help strengthen our international community by connecting specialists and supporting the vision of creating a truly global educational platform dedicated to fetal echocardiography.

The best way to learn fetal echocardiography is where every decision matters.

Textbooks provide knowledge. Recorded cases illustrate clinical findings. But true diagnostic confidence is built through exposure to real clinical scenarios, expert reasoning, and live patient examinations.

Fetal Cardio Cracow 2026 is a three-day international course dedicated entirely to fetal heart assessment, designed for specialists involved in fetal medicine, prenatal diagnosis, and obstetric ultrasound.

The programme combines:
• Live fetal heart examinations on consenting patients
• Expert-led case discussions
• Practical diagnostic strategies
• Comprehensive lectures covering the full spectrum of congenital heart disease
• Supervised hands-on training in small groups

Back from an inspiring Masterclass in Fetal Echocardiography in Yerevan, Armenia.

It was a privilege to teach more than 80 specialists, following the invitation of Dr. Lilit Hovsepian and the local scientific societies.

The programme combined interactive lectures, live scanning of complex congenital heart defects—including TA-IVS, CAT A2, TOF and CoA—and hands-on workshops focused on improving diagnostic confidence in fetal echocardiography.

After the course, together with the excellent team at Glasbo Clinic, we assessed two challenging late first trimester cases of congenital heart disease (TOF and AVSD), discussing diagnosis and patient management as a multidisciplinary team.

Education, collaboration and sharing clinical experience remain the most effective way to improve prenatal detection of congenital heart disease.

Thank you to all participants for your enthusiasm and inspiring discussions.
