Un orgullo. Muchas felicidades para mi hija.
-Ramon Plaza-Gregory.
We are excited to announce Stephanie Plaza-Torres as the 2026-2027 GSA-USGS Congressional Science Fellow.
Stephanie is a geoscientist whose work connects paleontology, geochemistry, and science policy. Her research has explored fossil plants and coprolite microbial activity using stable isotope geochemistry, and she brings a strong commitment to mentorship and expanding access to research experiences for undergraduate students.
She has also built extensive science policy experience through work with the American Geosciences Institute, the Paleontological Society, and the National Science Foundation, contributing to discussions on fossil collection practices, museum policy, and Tribal Nation engagement.
Through the GSA-USGS Congressional Science Fellowship, Stephanie will bring her interdisciplinary background and policy experience to support evidence-based decision-making in Congress. Congratulations, Stephanie!
