Casa de Lis is located in the historical and quiet, riverside village of Dornes situated in the heart of Central Portugal and yet conveniently located for visits to many places of historical or natural interest in the area. This delightful 4 bedroom house, has been sympathetically restored to a high standard. The house has been rebuilt to a comfortable and contemporary style with all the additions that one would expect in the 21st century so your visit makes you feel at home. Special attention has been paid to incorporating into the building the materials from the original building to help preserve the special sense of history and energy that permeates this medieval village. The house, whilst situated within the village, benefits from panoramic views of the river and forests as well as the historic 13th century pentagonal tower, the church and the characterful rooftops. The waters of the River Zêzere are clean and warm - wonderful for swimming and water sports. Not only does this house and its location offer families and friends a retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life but it is within proximity to many places of interest. The size and layout of the house also make it an ideal location from which to run small residential workshops, such as art, yoga, healing and anything else that goes hand in hand with the glorious surroundings. Walking groups, water sports enthusiasts, fishermen and nature lovers alike could spend endless hours exploring
the glorious countryside and riverbanks. It is also an inspiring location from whence to study or write.
