LIPITORILE MEDICINALE sunt crescute si reproduse in captivitate in mediu controlat . Se folosesc in hirudoterapie ( terapia cu lipitori ) in medicina pentru tratarea mai multor afectiuni. Acestea sunt hranite cu sange de origine animala controlat biologic ce provine de la abatoare avizate sanitar-veterinar, apa in care sunt tinute este filtrata si nu contine substante nocive, fiind respectata o perioada de carantina de minim 4 luni.
