Protect your peace choosing what you can control.
Some of the biggest changes I've made haven't been about doing more.
They've been about thinking differently.
Like many of us, I used to spend far too much time worrying about things I couldn't change.
What people might think
Plans that didn't work out
Things that had already happened
Or situations that were completely out of my hands.
Then I realised something that every minute I spent focusing on those things was taking my attention away from what I could do.
Now, whenever I feel overwhelmed, I ask myself one simple question:
"Can I control this?"
If the answer is yes, I take one small step
If the answer is no, I choose to let it go and put my energy somewhere more meaningful because while I can't control the weather, other people's opinions, or every unexpected twist life throws my way...
I can control how I respond
I can choose kindness
I can choose gratitude
I can choose to look after my home, my family, and myself
Those small choices don't make life perfect but they do make life feel lighter
And sometimes, that's exactly what we need.
If today's been one of those overwhelming days, I hope this little reminder helps. 🤍
For the woman who needs a gentle reminder that she doesn't have to have everything under control to keep moving forward.
