YOU ASKED. I ANSWERED 🩺

Can a woman with diabetes have a baby? 🤰🏽
YES. With good blood sugar control and proper medical care, a healthy pregnancy is possible.

Can bitter leaf cure diabetes? 🌿
NO. Bitter leaf is food, not a cure, and it should never replace prescribed treatment.

🔴 Type 1: Insulin is essential.
🔴 Type 2: Remission is possible for some people.

Please don’t stop your medication because of herbs.

If you have diabetes and want to become pregnant, talk to your doctor first.

💬 What diabetes question should I answer next?

DIABETES MYTH-BUSTER

“Bitter leaf cures diabetes.” ❌

Bitter leaf can be part of a healthy diet, but calling it a cure for diabetes is misleading.

If you have diabetes, your treatment plan may include medication, healthy eating, physical activity, monitoring your blood sugar and regular medical reviews.

🌿 Use bitter leaf as food if you enjoy it—but not as a replacement for your diabetes treatment.

💬 What other diabetes “cures” have you heard people recommend?

🩺 TUESDAY DOCTOR TIP

Feeling fine doesn’t always mean your blood sugar is controlled.

High blood sugar can sometimes occur without obvious symptoms.

If you live with diabetes:
✅ Monitor your blood sugar as advised
✅ Take your medication as prescribed
✅ Keep your readings recorded
✅ Keep your clinic appointments

Don’t guess. Know your numbers. ❤️

🩸 Blood glucose
🧪 HbA1c
❤️ Blood pressure
🧬 Cholesterol

Your numbers can give you and your healthcare team important information about your health.

🥚 Why is protein your best friend when you have diabetes?

Protein can help keep you satisfied, support muscle health, and make your meals more balanced.

Try adding:
🥚 Eggs
🐟 Fish
🍗 Chicken
🫘 Beans
🥛 Unsweetened Greek yogurt

And remember: you don’t have to completely avoid carbohydrates. Pair them with protein + fibre for a more balanced meal.

👉 Which one is your favourite: eggs, fish, chicken or beans?
