This summer I’m challenging myself to leave more space in our calendar.
Not because we don’t have things we could do, but because I’ve realised how uncomfortable empty space makes me feel.
When the calendar is quiet, a voice in my head starts whispering that I should be doing more. And the more I listen to it, the more I realise it has very little to do with summer.
It has everything to do with worth.
Somewhere along the way, many of us learned to measure our value by how much we do. So slowing down can almost feel… wrong.
This summer I’m choosing to challenge that belief. Not because I think my children need less. But because I think they need a mum who isn’t always thinking about what’s next.
So here’s my challenge to you. Leave at least one day completely open this summer. No plans. No schedule. Just wake up and ask, “What do we actually feel like doing today?”
If that idea makes you feel a little uncomfortable… Maybe it’s not because you need a busier life. Maybe you’ve simply forgotten that your worth was never meant to be measured by how full your calendar is 💛
