It’s time to get personal and share who we are and how Fungi.era was founded. Two mushroom-obsessed founders who met by chance on a stormy beach in Northern Sweden. A surf mission that turned into a friendship and one question: why is no one offering functional mushrooms with proper quality?
Fabian came from a life of extreme skiing and media work in high mountains, carrying several concussions. Emil had been Sweden’s youngest stock exchange CEO and felt the weight of years of intense work. Both looked for a pure Lion’s Mane extract to support their recovering brains, but couldn’t find one.
They bonded not only over fungi, but over feeling more at home in nature than in the city. Awkward at cool parties, completely grounded in the forest. It came from childhoods spent outdoors, learning from their grandparents to respect nature and feel its rewards.
The idea of Fungi.era took shape with a clear vision: reconnect urban people with the wild through fungi. They made a pact: either we create the best quality possible, or we don’t do it at all.
For two years they searched for a farmer who met their standards. They finally found one in a rural mountain village in China, a family farm growing mushrooms as they have for generations. Why China? Because it has the climate, tradition and knowledge to grow world-class functional mushrooms.
Today Fungi.era exists alongside Svamphuset, also founded by Fabian and Emil, teaching people to grow their own gourmet mushrooms. Every day is spent hands-on in the factory and lab, ensuring everything they create meets the highest quality. Complete mushroom nerds, dedicated to reconnecting people with nature. 🍄🟫💚
