Olive (Olea europaea) trees can live for a very long time.
They are indestructible; the root system is very robust and is capable of regenerating itself.
They are drought-friendly plants and produce edible fruits, leaves and seeds for us.

Wood knots are caused by grain deviation to accommodate wood found inside the branches.
the outer parts of the trunk wood are ‘knot-free’
whereas the central inner part of the trunk which are darker in colour will contain (dead) knots.
Today marks the end of our 1-week venture @ Tanglin Mall.

The Armadillo toy kickstarted our little adventure of bringing in the brand ‘BAREFOOT’ into Singapore.
We felt the toys were in line with our company’s vision and mission.
To bring awareness and mindfulness of protecting our natural environment.

Our logo is inspired by a Colugo in ‘flight’, technically these little furry creatures do not fly but glide.
Their large membrane of skin that extends between their paired limbs, giving them the ability to glide.
A colugo can travel as far as 70m from one tree to another.

Ixoras as known as the ‘jungle flame’ represents passion and increased sexuality.
In Asia, ixoras are used for ornamental purposes and also for its medicinal qualities to treat diarrhea and fever.
This is one of my early works where I use paper mounting tape to hold the preserved plant materials in place.

The Sunda pangolin is one of the native mammals found in the Singapore rainforest.
They have been around for over eighty million years as a species.
They have a scaly outer protective layer and are gentle in personality.
I have chosen the pangolin as the first animal I want to recreate with my leaf artwork; To bring awareness that they are critically endangered animals which are being poached to extinction for their meat and scales.

I have always been eager to explore the medium – resin.
To me it is a way to I could put together plant materials in a more 3-Dimensional perspective.
We are currently having a soft launch for my resin collection at Tanglin Mall Basement 1 from now till 1st of May. Do pop by for a visit and grab a free balloon to kick start a fun filled long weekend holiday!

As my child starts recognizing some letters and singing the ABC song; I was inspired to do an artwork where she could learn alphabets and appreciate nature.
Each letter is uniquely crafted with preserved plant materials which I picked from my neighborhood with my child.
