Yesterday’s family massage ended up being surprisingly significant for me.

For the first time, I spoke up.

I gently asked the shop owner if the masseuses could power off their phones during the massage session because I’m quite sensitive to EMFs and really wanted to fully relax during the treatment.

Sometimes phones are placed very near or even beside me during massages, so I personally feel a noticeable difference when they’re powered off nearby.

To my surprise, she completely understood and immediately went to speak with them.

And honestly… it may have been one of the best massage sessions I’ve ever had. 🌿

Another unexpected benefit? The masseuses were fully present throughout the session instead of occasionally attending to ringing phones midway.

What stayed with me most wasn’t only the massage itself, but the realisation that perhaps I’ve stayed silent about certain needs for too long because I assumed people wouldn’t understand or that it might inconvenience them.

I’m still learning that sometimes communication matters more than silent discomfort.

I also know many people may not relate to EMF sensitivity, and that’s okay. But I do think some people experience certain symptoms without ever considering possible correlations.

So here’s just a very simple wellness experiment if you’re curious:

Try completely powering off your phone before sleep for one week and notice whether your sleep feels any different. ✨

Sometimes the smallest changes speak the loudest to our bodies.

This week has been a reminder that wellness is not always soft or comfortable.

While spending some time back in Singapore recently, I intentionally continued my Muay Thai training routine — more than 10 sessions over the past week and a half, including opportunities to train under different coaches as well.

Every coach and training partner taught me something different along the way. Not just about fighting, but also about discipline, consistency, humility and showing up even when the body feels tired.

Sometimes growth happens through stillness.
Sometimes it also happens through sweat, discomfort and perseverance. 💪🔥

Grateful for the journey, and looking forward to stepping into my 4th fight on 27 June in Singapore with a deeper respect for the process.

This week I found myself going for Muay Thai training by myself 3 times while Joe is in Singapore 😄

Honestly, it felt really good to simply move my body again, sweat it out and enjoy the process.

The environment probably helped too — training surrounded by rice fields, mountains and wide open skies in Chiang Mai 🌾⛰️ The natural breeze has been amazing, especially now that the rainy season is slowly coming in and the weather is getting cooler.

Sometimes wellness is not only about supplements, treatments or routines.

Sometimes it’s simply about moving our bodies, breathing deeply, reconnecting with nature and allowing ourselves to be fully present again 🌿

I shall join tomorrow’s training too and make it the most I’ve ever trained in a week 😆

To my pleasant surprise this morning, we had a new female coach for our Muay Thai class 👩

Really thankful for her patience as I’m still very much an amateur in Muay Thai haha. I still have a lot to work on when it comes to my breathing and stamina, as I tend to run out of breath quite easily 😮‍💨

Recently, I’ve also become more conscious about building muscle strength and supporting long-term bone health after some body scan readings showed that my bone density seems to be getting lower.

I always thought weights would be the main solution, but Joe was sharing that Muay Thai can actually be very beneficial too, as it combines strength, mobility, coordination and flexibility training together.

I’m definitely nowhere near proficient yet, but I would say I can still manage a few pretty decent punches and kicks lolll 🥊 Never imagined myself picking up martial arts in the first place.

And definitely not too old to start 🌱

Honestly also very inspired by the 61-year-old uncle in our class (whom we all affectionately call Shu Shu in Chinese) who shared that his health and energy improved tremendously after training daily. What a beautiful reminder that movement, consistency and an active lifestyle can make such a difference over time 💪

This morning, I finally had the chance to visit the Chiang Mai Yunnan Market 🌿

I’ve heard much about it from friends for a while now, but somehow never got around to visiting personally as I usually get my groceries from the supermarket.

There was something beautifully grounding about the experience — fresh produce, warm conversations and the familiar rhythm of local market life.

Back home, I always enjoyed visiting local markets as the food feels fresher and there’s something meaningful about connecting personally with the stall owners and community around you.

I even came home with fresh Dang Gui (Chinese angelica root) for a nourishing soup ✨

Sometimes wellness is also found in these simple everyday rhythms of life.

Today we spent a slow afternoon in Chiang Mai 🌿

From lunch to coffee to wandering around Baan Kang Wat, the whole day carried such a gentle and grounding feeling.

One little rustic café especially stayed with us — filled with old books, cassette tapes and records collected over time. There was something so warm, soulful and deeply human about the space.

The owner quietly served everyone with such sincerity and joy while doing carpentry work beside the café, and somehow even the little heart shape on the hot cocoa felt especially meaningful ☕️

Moments like these remind us that wellness is not always found in perfection or luxury.

Sometimes what nourishes us most are spaces that feel real, peaceful and created with genuine heart. ✨

This café is called Living the Dream — and somehow, the name resonated deeply with us. ✨

Years back, we carried a dream of creating spaces that support deeper healing, rest and wellbeing through nature, slower living and meaningful human connection.

In 2023, we made the bold decision to relocate our family to Chiang Mai and step into a very different rhythm of life.

The journey is still unfolding, but along the way we’ve experienced something beautiful:
when we change our environment, our inner world often begins changing too.

More stillness.
More clarity.
More space to breathe.

Part of the vision we continue carrying is the hope of creating spaces with a gentler environmental load and lower EMF exposure — especially for those who are increasingly sensitive to the modern environment, or simply longing for deeper rest and restoration.

We recently brought some friends here during their retreat trip to Chiang Mai, and this café quietly reminded us that “living the dream” is often less about perfection, and more about courageously choosing a different way to live. 🌿

“Wellness” is not only about the body.
It’s also about how we see ourselves within. 🌿

“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she happily looks forward to the time to come.” — Proverbs 31:25

As women and mothers, we often carry many worries quietly — family, children, relationships, finances and the future.

Yet true wellness is also having an inner compass that remains steady despite external circumstances.
A quiet strength.
A deep dignity.
A hope that allows us to look forward to the future with peace rather than fear.

At the same time, I’ve also been reminded recently that caring for our physical body matters too. Lately, I’ve been trying to move my body more intentionally, strengthen it through exercise and even sleep earlier where possible. Our body and inner self are deeply connected, and sometimes caring for one gently supports the other as well.

Today, we honour all women and mothers around the world. 💐

Thank you for your strength, your example and your presence.
The quiet ways you carry others, nurture hearts and hold spaces together often mean more than words can express.

May strength and dignity clothe you.
May your inner world remain anchored in peace.
May your body grow stronger and healthier too.
And may you happily look forward to the time to come.

Happy Mother’s Day from us at Jonidere Wellness 🤍

One night in Mon Jam during a 5D4N retreat with friends became a gentle reminder of something we often forget in daily life — to slow down… sabai sabai 🌿

The mountains were warm and dry this season, touched with shades of brown rather than lush green. Yet there was still so much beauty in it. Nature has a way of reminding us that every season carries its own purpose — even the harsher ones.

The birds soaring freely above the hills felt like a quiet reflection of what many of us long for internally: space, lightness and freedom within ourselves.

There’s also something healing about being in the mountains.
You naturally begin to rise above the noise, the pressure and the constant pace of life. You start seeing from a different perspective.

And perhaps true wellness is not about escaping life completely, but learning how to carry that deeper calm, clarity and groundedness back into the real world with us.

A gentle reminder to pause, breathe and reconnect with what truly matters ✨
