🌸 Thoughts for Thursday 🌸

CONTROL
Why are we afraid 😱 of giving up CONTROL !!!!!
Because when we hold on to certain thoughts and emotions about our future, we think we can control the outcome or have some power over them.

You may take the necessary steps or actions in order to work through situations or your future, but that should be a means to control their outcome ???

Letting go on the other hand, does not mean that you are losing control or giving up !!!

You cannot equate, letting go as giving up ???
From Mindfullness perspective, you can let go of the stress that does not serve you in any way, releasing those controlling and automatic thoughts and habits.
Taking that pause and reflecting through breathing and Meditation.

{ You can continue to take the necessary steps and actions to achieve your goals but not attach yourself to any outcome }

In short, the illusion of control does not help you in anyway, only the steps that you take can do that.
In doing so you are more focused in the present moment and can make better decisions from there.

And EX of CONTROL:
Do you shop on need basis?
Or you shop for something and do not even remember to wear it, that means you are here to control life not celebrate it.☺️

Everything you do is a canvas of your life 💗
Happy Thursday,
Kash.

THOUGHTS 💭
What about them 😊
Thoughts only ever have the power you give them.

Having a clear mind all the time is impossible and because the mind is always active, trying to empty it can be highly frustrating 😣

So the question 🙋🏻‍♀️ is how to manage these thoughts mindfully. ??

{ UNDERSTANDING THAT THOUGHTS ARE NOT FACTS }

Often thoughts arising in our consciousness are automatic thoughts, and most times they are biased towards negative, self limiting and self critical thoughts.
Eg: Imagine someone coming up to you and asking how you are ?
And before you respond in your mind you think 🤔 ‘ What’s his problem? Why does he keep asking me that ?
The person may have asked with the best intentions, but you saw the words as a threat and thought defensively against him.

Can you see how our thoughts jump to quick conclusions with little evidence.
Hence this kind of negative thoughts can build up over time if you are not conscious and impact your mood and the way you see yourself.

{ STEPPING BACK AND NON IDENTIFICATION FROM YOUR THOUGHTS }
Eg: If you are reading a book and hold it really close to your face, can you read anything ?
Everything is a blur right ?
But when you gradually move the book away, you are able to make out words, shapes, sentences and paragraphs etc.

Similarly, when you are so close to your thoughts, that you notice only them, you don’t have a wider perspective.
You may be having unhelpful thoughts that you identify with because you are unable to see the wider picture. 🙈

Stepping back from your thoughts allows you to distance yourself from them and therefore lose your self-Identity with them.
Doing so gives us a greater sense of control and choice and allows us to make wise decisions and get our perspective back. 🙉

Wishing you all a lovely day.

Good Morning !!
🌸 Thoughts for Thursday 🌸

LET US TALK ABOUT CREATIVITY .

Creativity is part of the unknown. Like a seed sprouting in darkness.
It’s not part of the thinking process, it’s the pause in your thinking, that’s why creativity is called out of the box.
When you come out of your own set of beliefs, identities and role plays then creativity happens.

Eg- let’s say when a Friend comes an shares some things about their life. Because we are outside, we are having a clearer and better picture. But when we are there in a situation, we cannot think or see clearly because we are too invested 🤔

We use mindfulness as a pause in our thinking, emotions. That’s when we are truly inspired, and creativity then sprouts from that unknown.
On a ending note will share a quote of Rabindranath Tagore
“ I was making walls to protect myself, but I did not realise when it became my cage “

Much love 💗

🌸Thoughts for Thursday 🌸

What is UNCERTAINTY ??
Personally I have struggled a lot with it.
We all face uncertainty at some point or stage in our life.
We hate to be in a place of fear, uncertainty.

In fact, the bigger our fear, the bigger is our uncertainty isn’t it ???

Also, what happens when we face uncertainty in our life?
We, hold more thoughts, more emotions.
When there is uncertainty in relationships, we control more, supervise more.

It’s a vicious cycle: More control, more uncertainty.
A endless loop.
What is the WAY OUT then ??

Having an end goal or objective in sight, is not bad, as humans we need that organisation and structure for working towards our goals. But if we work towards it in a purely executional
way, we lose the flavour of the present moment, enjoying the journey towards that goal.
And in our minds we start trying to control every outcome.

We need to relook at what have we identified ourselves with ??

Our THOUGHTS and our BELIEFS behind those thoughts. ???

What is the subconscious conditioning happening?
We need to peel or observe those layers in a safe space in our minds.

We need to see how we have identified ourself in life, every aspect personal, our relationships, career etc.

The More the control, more the uncertainty.

Eg: How we travel for a three or four day trip, says a lot about us.
How many things we take, the bigger your uncertainty, the bigger is your bag 😌
The more you trust the smaller the bag.

Mindfulness helps us to slowly overcome the grip of predicting all the outcomes in future and allows you to focus in the present.
🤗
Wishing a good day to all,
Kashmira.

🌸Thoughts for Thursday 🌸
What is one of the most important quality of a good coach or mentor.

Any guesses ???

Well it’s LISTENING.
So here’s how Mindfulness helps to be a good listener.
For listening to happen we first have to empty ourselves.
We have to silence our mind, create a space and be available for ourselves first.
We need to ask ourselves a few questions.
Is my listening with the person I’m talking to ? Or is there a part of me, still trying to adjust or show up ? Manage the conversation or planning for what is next ?
Am I preoccupied with what am I going to say back to the person or how am I going to respond ?

But what is needed is simply your presence. Your listening is such that your presence itself becomes transformational.

With that listening, if you can bring a little bit of non judgment, emptiness and acceptance of what is being shared.

Mindfulness helps to create that space, that emptiness within you and be available for that conversation.

PS: Healing happens when your stories are heard.

🌸Thought for Thursday 🌸

Why is it so important to have a regular MEDITATION practice ?
We never question ourselves if we need to brush, bathe or eat everyday.
We do these activities as part of our physical hygiene and daily sustenance for the upkeep of our body in order to nourish it properly.
But do we ever think about our mental hygiene ??what’s going on in our minds, conscious and unconscious thoughts churning itself on auto pilot mode. ??
And what about the emotions which are manifested will all those thoughts, a bit too much is going on in our mind and is often shoved under the carpet as a non priority or something to be put on a back burner.
It is only when things go out of hand, when we realise we have to do something to tackle our mind. To keep it in focus, in the here and now and not running back to the past or leaping into the future.
MEDITATION allows us to acknowledge or observe thoughts and emotions as an impartial observer, without getting entangled in them,
and over a period of time of regular meditation practice,
we build this awareness of how our mind reacts to thoughts and emotions that comes to us.
We come to place of choice where we can either react or respond to a situation.
But for this regular practice of meditation is needed to understand the nature of your own mind. Becoming familiar with it. With regular meditation practice we aim to sit with our uncomfortable thoughts and emotions too. Embracing them, Good or bad we often realise thoughts are just thoughts, it’s upto us to manifest them or let them pass.

MINDFULNESS meditation is not coming to a place of peace, but rather carrying that peace wherever you go.🙏

What is true love 💗

Let’s think about this as Valentine’s Day is here.

Love is not only a will to possess.
The purest form of love is when your love for each other exceeds your need for each other

Love is like a friendship caught on fire, a flame, very pretty, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable. – Bruce Lee

When you judge people, you have no time to love them. – Mother Teresa.

When you love someone, the best thing you can offer is your presence. How can you love if you are not there? – Thich Nhat Hanh

Love grows by giving. The love we give away is the only love we keep. The only way to retain love is to give it.

We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to love an imperfect person perfectly.

Wishing you all tons of love 💗
On Valentine’s Day 🌸🌸🌸
Love Kashmira.

🌸 Thought for Thursday 🌸

Would love to share something from my personal practice of mindfulness and meditation.

Why do we need a anchor during mindfulness meditation ??

Eg: Our breath, bodily sensations and sounds are often used as anchors in meditation.
Anchoring is important as we are all aware how our human mind works like a monkey jumping from branch to branch, likewise our thoughts flit from daydreaming to planning, to solving issues in our life, all these activities while are so important for us to live in a functioning way and execute things, hinder our ability to remain calm, mediate and keep our awareness in the present moment.
Hence anchoring is very vital to any meditation practice.
One may stray many times into thoughts and ideas unconsciously during meditation, but being aware that one has strayed from the anchor and coming back to it, patiently and without judgement and awareness is Mindfulness.
Once you build this awareness in a regular meditation practice, we can slowly move this awareness to mindfulness in action.

Hi all,
To those who know me and don’t know me.🤗
I’m a certified yoga teacher and had been passionate about teaching yoga and meditation for the past 8 years.
I always incorporate mindfulness even while teaching yoga and always ended the session with a soothing meditation.
Since my students always appreciated this approach, I decided to further my interest and knowledge on this subject and hence certified myself as a mindfulness trainer/ coach.
I’m interested in teaching, mentoring anyone who is curious about this subject either personally or in a group. Watch out for further information and updates coming up as I go deeper in this journey.
I looked forward to seeing you on this page and hope this inspires you in your personal practice as well.
Please feel free to reach out.
Love Kashmira 💕
PS/ I consider myself a life long learner.
