I tried something playful recently — I asked ChatGPT to create a caricature based on what it “knows” about me.

The two versions were very recognisable. White coat, stethoscope, clipboard - all accurate 😊

But I got curious and asked again:
“What about what I do for a living?”

I half-expected the background to be busy - babies, ultrasound machines, operating theatres - all the visible parts of the job.

Instead, it gave me something quieter.

A mother and child. A heart. Space.

No dramatic scenes. No crowded symbols.

It made me pause.

So much of medicine isn’t in the obvious moments. It’s in conversations, in careful explanations, in thinking before acting, in protecting time for someone who needs it.

Perhaps that’s harder to draw - but easier to feel.
