When we talk about a **life transition**, we often focus on the logistics—the packing boxes, the legalities, or the new routine.

But for Cassandra Robinson, the real transition was internal. After her divorce a year and a half ago, she went through the gruelling process of moving three times, ending up back with her parents.

It was a time of immense emotional exhaustion, a period where it felt nearly impossible to find a service or a community that truly aligned with her identity and her current struggles.

Cassandra’s experience with AURA highlights a common issue for many women: we are so busy taking care of everyone else that we end up feeling utterly depleted.

When she discovered AURA, she realised she finally had permission to take care of herself.

The assessment was a moment of reflection.

After completing her assessment, Cassandra received a detailed report specific to her needs. That report coupled with a one-on-one consultation with our expert doctors and wellness coaches, helped her put a practical, sustainable plan into practice.

Whether you are moving house, changing careers, or navigating the end of a relationship, your health should never take a back seat.

We are always there to help you navigate your next chapter with care and attention.

Every woman moves through her own wellness journey but not every woman realises she is on one.

There are six stages I’ve come to notice many women go through when it comes to wellness and health.

Stage one is simple: no awareness. Life is busy. Work, family, responsibilities. Health becomes something you deal with only when something goes wrong.

Stage two is where everything begins to shift. You start listening. You notice your energy dips, your mood changes, your cycle feels different. You begin paying attention to what your body is trying to tell you.

Stage three is where many women get stuck. You start seeking solutions, but you put more trust in quick fixes than in yourself. A new diet. A supplement. A trend. When they don’t work long term, you feel frustrated.

Then comes stage four, you realise you have agency. You understand that sustainable wellness and health isn’t about extremes rather It’s about consistency.

Stage five is the messy middle. Building habits becomes harder as life’s priorities get in the way. Due to induced stress old patterns resurface which makes change an uphill battle.

And finally, stage six. You’re no longer reacting and you are living intentionally with habits that support you. You’ve built a care system around you which makes your wellness journey feel aligned.

So pause for a moment and try to pinpoint where you are right now in your wellness journey.

We often think of our health in silos, treating our bloating, our mood swings, or our restless nights as separate issues. But at AURA, we look at the common thread: your nervous system.

When you spend your day on autopilot, rushing between tasks and holding emotional space for everyone else, your body enters a "fight or flight" state.

In this state, your body deprioritises "non-essential" functions like digestion and hormone production. This is why a dysregulated nervous system often leads to a sluggish gut, erratic moods, and hormonal imbalances.

The secret to feeling better isn't a massive lifestyle overhaul; it’s about regulating the nervous system through a consistent daily routine.

By implementing small, daily practices, you signal to your brain that the "threat" is over. This allows your cortisol levels to drop, letting your hormones find their natural rhythm and your digestion to function smoothly.

Think of it as "micro-dosing" peace. For instance, a slow cup of tea in the morning, five minutes of sunlight, or choosing comfort over chaos. These are the building blocks of a resilient body.

When your nervous system is calm, your sleep deepens, your mood stabilises, and your energy returns.

Our AURA Daily Habit tracker was designed on this notion, to help practice consistent small routines without the overwhelm.

When you sign up for free, you'll receive a personalised plan that identifies the key areas you need to focus on.

From there, we’ll help you build a daily routine that you can actually stick to, helping you regulate your nervous system and reclaim your well-being, one small step at a time.

The concept of a longevity lifestyle for women has gained popularity across social media and podcasts with new hacks promising longer lives.

Sadly, most of these strategies are built on a male pattern model of ageing. For men, ageing is like a gentle slope, with testosterone declining by roughly 1% each year.

But longevity for women is entirely different. We do not age in a straight line; we age in waves. Our hormones rise and fall across major biological pivot points like perimenopause and menopause.

Applying male-based strategies, such as extreme fasting or high-intensity training, often leads women straight to burnout, sleep disruption, metabolic resistance, and hormonal imbalance.

As we age, we move through seven-year cycles where our needs evolve. In our 30s, we become more sensitive to stress, and by our 40s, inflammation rises more easily.

To truly embrace ageing gracefully, we must understand the "estrogen cliff." During menopause, estrogen can drop by up to 90% in just two to three years. This is a biological earthquake that affects every organ system, from the brain and heart to our bone density.

Focus on these four pillars:

Rhythm over Force: Choosing gentle movement on low-energy days is a resilient alternative to forcing high-intensity workouts.

Safety as Foundation: Recognise that caregiving and emotional labor create metabolic stress that can disrupt your energy.

Fueling for Stability: Prioritise protein and stable blood sugar over extreme fasting. Use magnesium and leafy greens to manage inflammation and mood.

Nervous System Regulation: Practices like breathwork and grounding tell your body it is safe to repair and recover.

Ageing gracefully isn't about fighting time; it’s about returning to our natural rhythm.

Do you understand your aging pattern?

At AURA, we are reframing the conversation around **longevity for women**. Because the truth is simple: women have a unique physiology that affects  our hormonal rhythms, emotional landscape, and metabolic needs in different stages of life.

Yet most mainstream longevity lifestyle advice ignores this.

Our mission is to provide real, science-backed longevity strategies designed specifically for women’s biology and not trends nor quick fixes.

Rather we are focusing on practical tools that protect strength, energy and mental clarity long term.

Through Longevity for Women: How to Stay Healthy, Strong and Vibrant for Life with Dr Sabine Schellerer, we guide women to understand the key drivers of healthy ageing.

This includes learning how to:

🍀 Optimise hormonal balance

🍀 Maintain muscle mass and metabolic health

🍀 Support gut function and detox pathways

🍀 Reduce chronic inflammation

🍀 Build stress resilience

Ageing gracefully does not mean accepting fatigue or decline. It means building the foundations today that protect your vitality tomorrow.

At AURA, we believe women deserve clarity around how their bodies work. We believe prevention is powerful. And we believe that strength in your forties, fifties and beyond is not accidental rather it is built.

During perimenopause, your body is working hard to adapt to changing hormones, and your nervous system often feels the strain.

Breathwork is a simple, drug‑free way to support this transition and acts as one of the most accessible immune system boosters you can use every day.

When you practice calm, natural breathing, especially from the lower abdomen, you help the body shift from “fight or flight” into “rest and repair”. This shift reduces stress hormones like cortisol, which in turn can lower inflammation and support healthier immune and nervous responses.

Slow, deep breathing also supports better sleep and emotional balance, which are vital for nervous strength during perimenopause.

Qigong-inspired breathing teaches you not to force the breath, but to listen. Standing with soft knees, relaxed shoulders and an open chest, you allow the breath to move in and out through the nose, gently expanding the lungs and relaxing the nervous system.

Movements that open and close the chest, coordinated with easy inhalations and exhalations, encourage Qi, or life energy, to flow, which traditional Chinese wisdom links directly with resilience and immunity.

Nose breathing keeps your system balanced, while occasional soft mouth exhalations help you release built‑up tension or emotion.

This combination is especially helpful when perimenopausal stress, irritability or overwhelm feel stuck in the body.

Over time, these small daily practices become powerful nervous system boosters, helping you feel steadier, clearer and more grounded.

The AURA app’s 5-Minute Daily Breath Flow simplifies this. Practices like Daily Bhastrika (Active Exhalation) boost oxygen and metabolism to ease fatigue, brain fog, and hormonal low mood.

Regular short sessions support lung health, clear sinuses, and optimise nervous function. It’s an easy, rhythmic way to revitalize your system daily.

Microcosmic Orbit breathing in traditional Chinese medicine treats your body like a complete energy circuit: qi orbits the Du Mai (back governor vessel) upward and Ren Mai (front conception vessel) downward for deep harmony.

It supports digestion by settling Earth elements, lifts mood via Wood and Fire balance, boosts vitality from Water (kidneys) – ideal as a daily reset for busy women facing hormonal flux, stress or fatigue.

Rooted in Taoist qigong, it opens key “gates” along the spine and front channel, fostering resilience like a second spring.

The beauty lies in its gentle nature—no strain, just natural breath guiding warm energy like a river through meridians. It nourishes the kidneys’ deep reserves, vital for resilience during perimenopause, easing that “wired but tired” feeling so common today.

By settling the Earth element, it supports steady digestion, reduces bloating and grounds scattered energy. The heart and mind find calm as Fire element softens, helping with sleep, anxiety and emotional ups and downs linked to liver qi stagnation. Wood energy flows freer, lifting mood swings and tension held in the neck and shoulders.

Regular practice builds vitality over time, like charging a battery for your whole system. Many feel a subtle warmth spreading, clearer focus and renewed libido as Water element strengthens. It’s a second spring ritual, turning midlife changes into renewal rather than struggle.

Unlike quick fixes, this builds lasting balance by syncing your inner clock with day-night cycles and seasons. Women often report fewer hot flushes, better rest and a quiet confidence from feeling truly embodied.

In AURA’s Women’s Balance Qigong with TCM Program, Microcosmic Orbit breathing weaves seamlessly into sessions exploring five elements, liver support and hormone harmony.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, your Liver is not only a physical organ. It is the system that keeps your Qi (your life energy) moving smoothly through your whole body. When this movement gets blocked, we call it liver Qi stagnation.

Everyday life is often the real cause: long‑term stress, rushing, overworking, sitting too much, irregular meals, and emotions you swallow instead of expressing.

Little by little, this creates tension in your body and mind, especially in your chest, ribs, neck and jaw.

This is why liver Qi stagnation symptoms can be so varied. You might feel irritable for “no reason”, have PMS, breast tenderness, headaches, tight shoulders, sigh a lot, or feel a lump in your throat when you are upset.

In peri‑menopause this often gets worse, because your oestrogen – a yin, moistening, buffering force – is dropping, so your whole system has less cushioning against stress.

Instead of a quick fix, a liver Qi stagnation cure in TCM is a gentle, steady shift in how you live and move. Think of it as teaching your Qi to flow again.

Simple liver Qi stagnation tips you can start now: take regular movement breaks if you sit a lot, walk daily, stretch the sides of your ribs, and shake out your hands and arms to let tension leave.

Add slow, deep breathing into your lower belly to help your energy sink down instead of rushing up into your head.

Try a short qigong routine in the evening to unwind your nervous system. Over time, these small, kind choices bring more ease to your body, more space to your emotions and a steadier, softer version of you.

Do you ever feel as though your body is bracing all the time, tight jaw, stiff neck, rigid shoulders, especially when yo...

Do you ever feel as though your body is bracing all the time, tight jaw, stiff neck, rigid shoulders, especially when you are under pressure?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine this is a sign that your Liver Qi (Liver’s life force energy) is not flowing as it should.

The liver is seen as the body’s “General”, responsible for planning and keeping the smooth flow of Qi and blood throughout your whole system. When life feels manageable, this energy moves like a steady river.

But with **chronic stress** and **perimenopause**, that river often meets a dam. Energy backs up and shows up as stiff muscles, headaches, rib‑side tension, irritability, mood swings or feeling emotionally “stuck”.

During chronic stress and perimenopause, this is even more likely, as hormone changes make the whole system less stable and more reactive.

The result is a mix of physical and emotional symptoms: tension, headaches, digestive upset, mood swings, inner restlessness or a sense of not being able to “move on”.

TCM views this not as a personal failing but as a pattern that can be gently rebalanced.

One key image is the Wood element, the Liver’s element. A healthy tree is grounded yet flexible, roots deep in the earth, branches free to move with the wind.

Gentle, grounding movements that root you through your feet while opening your ribs and chest help recreate this balance.

Simple Qigong exercises, done standing or even seated, can help you release stuck energy, calm your nervous system and feel more fluid in both body and mood as you navigate perimenopause.

An unknown homonal fact, the liver is actually the powerhouse of hormonal balance. In midlife, as our oestrogen levels fluctuate, the liver has the mammoth task of breaking down and clearing out "spent" hormones.

However, the liver is also a primary site for glucose storage. If you go too long without eating, or if your blood sugar is constantly spiking and crashing, your liver prioritises survival over hormone clearance.

This can lead to a buildup of oestrogen, resulting in heavy periods, bloating, and that dreaded brain fog.

So when it comes to the best diet for perimenopause, instead of often looking for a list of "superfoods," but the real answer lies in supporting your liver with a steady supply of energy.

By eating regular, balanced meals, you provide your liver with the glycogen it needs to keep your system clean. This reduces the burden on your body and helps stabilise your mood.

When your blood sugar is steady, your liver can efficiently metabolise hormones, which helps reduce the severity of night sweats and irritability. It’s about creating an internal environment where your body feels safe enough to function properly rather than staying in a state of emergency.
