The Healing Drum with Malika Avani Facilitator of inter-generational wellness mentorship, group workshops and transformational retreats. Drumming has become so much a part of her.

Malika embarked on a solo journey into the unknown only to find within herself, ancestral wisdom that she believes is accessible to all when we bring back the sacred in every offering of this majestic life. In 2011, the call to South America came strongly as she spent 2 years learning the language and the local cultures. Through her time living in Chile, she connected to the Andean cultures and ri

tuals. In 2014, she embarked on an even more profound work healing her past. As a sexual abuse survivor, her passion for healing and ceremonial work deepened with the introduction of her first shamanic drum from Peru. It accompanied her through her journey into the Brazilian Amazon, with a caravan of Rainbow family to support the tribe of Kuntamana in hosting a gathering of the tribes. Through sitting in ceremonies with the tribes, she found her voice and started her path as a keeper of songs. Her nomadic lifestyle enforces a life of simplicity with great respect to the land. In September last year, her path led her to the lands of the Lakotas as support to the Standing Rock movement, there she received her second drum from the Lakota lineage. Malika travels the world offering circles and ceremonies to support others in reconnecting to the land, to our ancestral wisdom. Through her songs and her deep connection to Mother Earth, she facilitates the freeing of the inner voice to sing our heart songs.

This Solstice we Hosted Abuela Tsukurima from Wixárika pueblo from the State of Nayarit, to gather in sisterhood to craft Ojos de Dios.

An Ojo de Dios (or God's Eye) is a spiritual and votive craft
It consists of colorful yarn woven in a diamond pattern around two crossed wooden sticks.

The Wixárikas refer to it as a Sikuli, meaning "the power to see and understand things unknown". The craft holds profound symbolic meaning.

It was beautiful to witness what blossoms when women gather to honour our elders. I loved Abuela's sweet shy leadership and how her face lights up when Baby Iyari shows up. Her prayerful ways and her devotion is inspiring to a pilgrim like me. Caminante de Amor.

Personally, returning to this piece of land that was home to me. This living fire was my living room. This jungle around held me through hurricanes and tremendous grief.

This Solstice, I got to be Auntie to Baby Iyari, bridge Indigenous knowledge amongst many sisters sitting around the fire and open sky weaving our personal and collective dreams alive.

When Land truly become a relative, she holds memory of what feels like returning to a full circle moment of growth from maiden to my current exuberance in Early Crone, amongst elders and living tradition.

I've been writing my songs, and I realise that my Spirit was calling me back to this jungle, mi querida Selva Mariposa, te llevo en mi ser para siempre. 💕❤️

We can sit on the side lines and create more division or we can anchor so deeply in Divine's love, our service and rise together.

I love how the rivers of diverse rich traditions converge in my world while honouring the ways of the custodian of the land unravel without the "I" that plans rather the "I" that response to a calling.

What's meant for you will chase you, truly. The way this prayer unfolded showed me the living testimony of God's grace, the eternal ancient Intelligence.

Carried...by the currents of life. The more one gains mastery and intimacy over one's medicine, the more one surrenders to one another, trusting with discernment the healthy seeds that bloom in the right relation.

Eros in the purest form is the fertile pulsating of Earth calling her daughters whole. It's the push and pull of the ebbing of the waves, it's a clear pulse of primordial instinct uncorrupted by artificial intelligence and manipulated data.

Women stop externalising your idoltry and recenter it in your womb, listen deeper to the silence and the voice of your soul.

The more the Artificial intelligence agenda gets enforced, the more the wild untamed ancestral intelligence is calling her daughters whole.

Suppression never served the birthing of the foundation of our lives. Having the right container to take risks to express what has been dormant gives women the safety to meet herself in her revival without being entangled in the pattern of co dependency and predation.

I birthed this body of work from the depths of my wounding, that has become scar tissue to the exuberance aliveness that I live from ..with over 20 years of self work and serving my global community.
