A JOURNEY TO MALEGOHUN CHIEFDOM, EASTERN PROVINCE

Sunday, May 10, 2026 Honorable Mohamed Papa Bangura paid a courtesy visit to Malegohun Chiefdom, Eastern Province, Sierra Leone.

Fifteen years ago Honorable Papa tirelessly worked as a volunteer with Restless Development and he was deployed at Sembehun village, Malegohun Chiefdom were he made so many good friends across all ages.

Both Weima and Sembehun villages, the old and young fokes were so astonished seeing the transformative growth of a young, passionate and positive-minded man they knew as a student to a Honorable Member of Parliament,representingBombaliDistrict. One of the old men at Sembehun Malegohun, Pa Tommy, burst into tears and with joy following Honorable Papa's surprise visit.

“I only came to visit and say hello to my good people in Malegohun Chiefdom, especially the people of Weima and Sembehun villages. I am grateful for all the memories we shared together during my service here with Restless Development,” Honorable Bangura stated.

He further noted that his visit was aimed at showing appreciation and reaffirming the everlasting love and admiration he holds for the people of Malegohun Chiefdom.

Honorable Bangura’s service to humanity goes beyond boundaries, and he doesn't think about color or tribe.

HON. CHERNOR “CHERICOCO” BAH CROWNED HONORARY CEREMONIAL CHIEF IN MAKENI

The Chief Sponsor of the Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma Trophy, former Member of the ECOWAS Parliament, and former Deputy Leader of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah, popularly known as “Chericoco,” has been honored by community leaders and football stakeholders in Makeni and beyond with a ceremonial chieftaincy title.

Hon. Bah was crowned ceremonial chief with the Temne title “Pa Alimamy Thonkla,” a name symbolizing unity and leadership, and recognizing his ability to bring people together across communities.

The ceremony was led by a ceremonial chief from Bombali Sebora Chiefdom, Pa Kapr Kiabin Turay, and was chaired by the APC former Secretary General, now National Vice Chairman, Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh.

The event attracted a strong presence of senior APC officials and party stakeholders, including APC Western Area Chairman Casho Holland J. Cole, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura (APC flag bearer aspirant), Hon. Hon. Chernor Ramadan Maju Bah on Friday, December 26, 2025 (BoxingDay), attended the EBK Children’s Foundation gathering at the Makeni City Council. He was accompanied by senior members of the All People’s Congress (APC), including the Mayor of Makeni City Council, Abu Bakarr Lamtales Kamara, his Deputy Mayor, Ibrahim Ornus Kamara who chaired the ceremony, Hon. Mohamed Papa Bangura, several council members, and other party stakeholders.

AUGU-B WINS BEST FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR 2025

The youth-led organization Made in Makeni has proudly honored one of the country’s youngest and most outstanding female music acts, AUGU-B, as Best Female Artist of the Year 2025. The award was presented during their maiden edition of the Makeni All Fields of Life Awards Ceremony hostedat the Universityof Makeni auditorium, held to celebrate excellence across various sectors.

AUGU-B is widely recognized not only for her calm and confident stage presence, but also for her electrifying performances and remarkable ability to engage and move audiences wherever she performs.

AUGU-B's manager and CEO of ABAEN, Sulaiman Sillah Sesay, expressed gratitude on behalf of the team: "I am extremely happy. HON. MOHAMED PAPA BANGURA AWARDED BOMBALI BEST PARLIAMENTARIAN OF THE YEAR

Opposition Member of Parliament from Bombali District, Honorable Mohamed Papa Bangura, was on Saturday, December 13, 2025, graciously recognized with a historic award as Bombali Best Parliamentarian of the Year. The honor was bestowed by the youth-led organization Save Our Youth Initiative Sierra Leone (SOYI-SL) during their Bombali All Works of Life Awards Ceremony, held at the Bombali District Council.

Widely known for his firm and outspoken stance, proactive approach, and exemplary leadership across all spheres of life, Honorable Bangura has distinguished himself as one of the few politicians whose voice consistently contributes constructively to national discourse in Parliament.

Before venturing into politics, Honorable Bangura rose from the sports sector, where he built a solid and respected reputation thus, an experience that significantly contributed to his present undeniable feats.

Beyond politics, Honorable Bangura is also the Co-founder of Access 2 Education, a non-governmental organization dedicated to providing educational support to underprivileged children in deprived communities across Bombali District.

WUSUM HILLS YOUTH ORGANIZATION CHAMPIONS BETTER ROADS FOR WATER WORKS AND NEW LONDON COMMUNITIES

The Wusum Hills Youth Organization has on Saturday, December 6, 2025 embarked on road maintenance at the Water Works and New London communities, leveling rough sections, and filling potholes in an effort to ease transportation challenges and support community development.

The exercise, which lasted several hours, brought together youths, few community stakeholders, and volunteers who worked collectively to restore the roads to a more usable state.

Residents expressed appreciation for the intervention, noting that it will greatly improve mobility, especially during the rainy season.

Leaders of the organization emphasized that the activity is part of a broader strategy to engage young people in meaningful service and to address infrastructural gaps within local communities.

“We don’t want to sit and wait for the government to do everything for us. With this initiative, we are calling on other stakeholders especially the Resident Minister, Ibrahim Jallomy Jalloh, His Lordship, Mayor Abu Bakarr Lamtales Kamara, and the District Council Chairman, Dr. Mohamed Mark Babah Sisay, to come to our aid in developing not only our roads but our entire community,” said Chairman Alie Mansaray.

HON. MOHAMED PAPA BANGURA DEBATED THE 2026 BUDGET FROM A NATIONAL PERSPECTIVE

Wednesday, December 3, 2025 APC Member of Parliament for Bombali District, Hon. Mohamed Papa Bangura also know as "The People'sHonorable", delivered a tough and passionate submission during the parliamentary debate on the 2026 National Budget.

Speaking with visible frustration, Hon. Bangura borrowed powerful expressions and swore from the famous Poro Society to underline his anger over what he described as longstanding government neglect of road construction, particularly in his hometown of Makeni in the Bombali District.

The MP further argued for an increase in the budgetary allocation for sports, stressing that the sector, if properly funded — has the potential to employ and transform the lives of thousands of young people across Sierra Leone.

Hon. Bangura also heaped praise on the current SLFA President, Babadi Kamara, commending him for his commitment and ongoing efforts to improve sports development in the country.
