Before the First Period

A girlโ€™s first period shouldnโ€™t be something she fearsโ€”it should be something she understands.

Yet for many girls, it arrives without anyone having talked to them about what to expect.

Thatโ€™s why, through the Digni-Period Project, Digni pads is working in secondary schools and local communities across South Sudan to provide puberty and menstrual health education. By creating safe spaces for honest conversations, weโ€™re helping girls understand their bodies, build confidence, and navigate this stage of life with dignity.

Weโ€™re proud to be doing this with the support of Global Changemakers, because every girl deserves to face her first period feeling informed, prepared, and empowered.

A girlโ€™s future should never be limited by her period.

At Digni pads, we believe every girl deserves the opportunity to stay in school, learn with confidence, and pursue her dreams without menstruation standing in the way.

Through the Digni-Period Project, weโ€™re working with girls at Darling Wisdom Academy - Glasgow Campus and Liberty Complex School, providing menstrual health education, breaking stigma, and creating safe spaces where girls can thrive.

Growing up comes with a lot of questions. Puberty can feel confusing, but with the right information and support, it becomes a journey of confidence and self-understanding.

Through the Digni-Period Project, DigniPads is working with girls at Darling Wisdom Academy - Glasgow Campus and Liberty Complex School, creating safe spaces to learn about puberty, menstrual health, and personal wellbeing.
