Peptic ulcer disease (PUD) "is the ulceration of mucosa membrane of stomach and duodenum"
-complications;
1.Bleeding-lead to vomiting blood, dark black tarry stool
2.perforation-lead to peritonitis
3.blockage-lead to abdominal distention
4. stomach cancer- from chronic gastritis
-Risk factors;
1. anti-inflammatory drugs like, aspirin, ibuprofen, Diclofenac, prednisolone, etc taken without physician prescription.
2. spices foods- chilli papper
3. gaseous juices like, soda etc
4. smoking
5. alcoholic
6. Caffeine-containing drinks; tea, coffee, and cola
7. chronic life stress "stress ulcers"
-cause;
1. Helicobacter pylori
-preventions;
1. "MUST" avoid risk factors above
2. maintain hygiene by washing hands after toilet visitation to prevent Helicobacter pylori transmission
3.consult physician for proper treatment when you have these signs and symptoms;
