Africa deserves a stronger respiratory workforce.

Today, only four African countries, Ghana, Liberia, Ethiopia, and Egypt, offer formal university education in Respiratory Care/Respiratory Therapy, despite the growing burden of respiratory diseases across the continent.

As part of its mission to strengthen respiratory care and improve patient outcomes across Africa, the Africa Respiratory Care Association (ARCA) is advocating for the establishment of formal Respiratory Care education in every African country.

We invite governments, Ministries of Health, Ministries of Education, universities, policymakers, development partners, organizations, and individuals to join us in advancing this vision.
