A practical training workshop on First on the Scene (FOTS) was conducted for 7 VNU Asia Pacific staff members.
The training emphasized hands-on learning to enable those witnessing emergencies to correctly and safely provide life-saving assistance to patients in critical situations. The main content covered 8 lessons:
1. Scene Safety & Activation: 🦺⛑️
* Assessing the safety of the incident site before providing assistance.
* Protecting oneself from infection and surrounding hazards.
* How to make a concise and accurate emergency call (1669 hotline).
2. Critical Hemorrhage Control. (Life-Threatening Bleeding Control) 🩸
* Assessing and identifying wounds at risk of death from blood loss.
* Direct pressure and wound packing techniques.
* Correct and safe use of tourniquets.
3. Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillator (CPR & AED) 💔⚡️
* Assessing unconscious and respiratoryally stopped patients.
* Practicing standard and effective chest compressions (CPR).
* Procedures for activating and using an automated external defibrillator (AED).
4. Airway Management 😷
* Assisting patients with airway obstruction (choking) in both adults and children.
* Positioning unconscious but still breathing patients in the recovery position to open the airway.
5. Shock Recognition 🤒
* Observing signs and warning signals of shock (e.g., pale skin, cold body, weak and rapid pulse).
* Providing first aid and supportive care while awaiting medical assistance.
6. Severe Allergic Reactions (Anaphylaxis) 🐝🕷
* Assessing life-threatening allergic reactions (e.g., difficulty breathing, facial swelling, hives)
* How to use an automatic self-administering injection pen (EpiPen)
7. Brain and Spinal Cord Injury (Spinal Immobilization Concepts) 🧠🤯
* How to observe and care for patients suspected of having head, neck, or back injuries
* Principles of safe patient transfer to prevent secondary disability
8. Patient Triage in Disaster Situations (Triage Concepts) 🔴🟡🟢
* Principles of initial patient assessment and triage when there are many injured people simultaneously (Mass Casualty Incident)
* How to prioritize assistance to save as many lives as possible

เน้นการเรียนรู้แบบลงมือปฏิบัติจริง เพื่อให้ผู้พบเห็นเหตุการณ์สามารถช่วยชีวิตผู้ป่วยในภาวะวิกฤตได้อย่างถูกต้องและปลอดภัย เนื้อหาหลัก 8 บทเรียน
1. การประเมินสถานการณ์และแจ้งเหตุ (Scene Safety & Activation)
* การประเมินความปลอดภัยของจุดเกิดเหตุก่อนเข้าช่วยเหลือ
* การป้องกันตนเองจากการติดเชื้อและอันตรายรอบตัว
* วิธีการโทรแจ้งเหตุฉุกเฉิน (สายด่วน 1669) ให้ข้อมูลได้กระชับและแม่นยำที่สุด
2. การห้ามเลือดขั้นวิกฤต (Life-Threatening Bleeding Control)
* การประเมินและแยกแยะบาดแผลที่เสี่ยงต่อการเสียชีวิตจากการเสียเลือด
* เทคนิคการกดแผลโดยตรง (Direct Pressure) และการแพ็คแผล (Wound Packing)
* วิธีการใช้ สายรัดห้ามเลือด (Tourniquet) อย่างถูกต้องและปลอดภัย
3. การกู้ชีพขั้นพื้นฐานและการใช้เครื่องช็อกไฟฟ้า (CPR & AED)
* การประเมินผู้ป่วยหมดสติและหยุดหายใจ
* ฝึกปฏิบัติการกดหน้าอก (CPR) ที่ได้มาตรฐานและมีคุณภาพ
* ขั้นตอนการเปิดใช้งานและใช้เครื่องช็อกไฟฟ้าหัวใจอัตโนมัติ (AED)
4. การจัดการทางเดินหายใจอุดกั้น (Airway Management)
* การช่วยเหลือผู้ป่วยที่มีสิ่งแปลกปลอมอุดกั้นทางเดินหายใจ (Choking) ทั้งในผู้ใหญ่และเด็ก
* การจัดท่าผู้ป่วยที่หมดสติแต่ยังหายใจอยู่ให้อยู่ใน ท่าพักฟื้น (Recovery Position) เพื่อเปิดทางเดินหายใจ
5. การรับมือกับภาวะช็อก (Shock Recognition)
* การสังเกตอาการและสัญญาณเตือนของภาวะช็อก (เช่น ผิวซีด ตัวเย็น ชีพจรเบาเร็ว)
* การปฐมพยาบาลและดูแลผู้ป่วยเพื่อประคับประคองอาการระหว่างรอทีมแพทย์
6. การแพ้อย่างรุนแรง (Anaphylaxis)
* การประเมินอาการแพ้ที่อันตรายถึงชีวิต (เช่น หายใจไม่ออก หน้าบวม ลมพิษขึ้นทั้งตัว)
* วิธีการใช้ ปากกาฉีดพยาบาลอัตโนมัติ (EpiPen)
7. การบาดเจ็บที่สมองและกระดูกสันหลัง (Spinal Immobilization Concepts)
* วิธีการสังเกตและดูแลผู้ป่วยที่สงสัยว่ามีการบาดเจ็บที่ศีรษะ คอ หรือหลัง
* หลักการเคลื่อนย้ายผู้ป่วยอย่างปลอดภัยเพื่อไม่ให้เกิดความพิการซ้ำซ้อน
8. การคัดแยกผู้ป่วยกรณีภัยพิบัติ (Triage Concepts)
* หลักการประเมินและคัดแยกผู้ป่วยเบื้องต้น เมื่อมีผู้บาดเจ็บจำนวนมากพร้อมกัน (Mass Casualty Incident)
* วิธีการเลือกว่าควรช่วยเหลือใครก่อน-หลัง เพื่อรักษาชีวิตคนให้ได้มากที่สุด
