Awareness can change the future.

Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that may develop silently, especially during growth spurts in children and adolescents.

It may not always cause pain in the early stages. That is why visible signs in posture can be an important warning.

📌 Watch for these signs:

✔️ One shoulder sitting higher than the other
✔️ Uneven waistline
✔️ Clothes hanging unevenly on one side
✔️ A rib hump or back asymmetry when bending forward
✔️ Unexplained back fatigue or discomfort

Scoliosis monitoring and treatment require consistency. Summer vacation can be a valuable time for evaluation, exercise planning, brace adaptation when needed, and regular follow-up without the pressure of school routines.

On June 26, Scoliosis Awareness Day, let’s remember:
Early awareness does not mean panic. It means taking the right step at the right time.

💬 Save this post and share it with a parent.
A simple observation can be the first step toward protecting a child’s spine health.

In many patients, the big toe shifts outward while the first metatarsal bone moves inward and may also rotate. That is why hallux valgus is often considered a three-dimensional foot deformity.

In some cases, the root of the problem may be instability or excessive mobility at the joint where the first metatarsal meets the midfoot. In these patients, correcting only the visible bump may not address the underlying cause.

📌 When may the Lapidus 3D approach be considered?

✔️ Advanced hallux valgus deformity
✔️ Excessive mobility of the first metatarsal
✔️ Higher risk of recurrence
✔️ Recurrent bunion after previous surgery
✔️ Difficulty wearing shoes or walking comfortably

The goal of Lapidus 3D surgery is to address the alignment of the big toe, the position of the metatarsal bone, and the weight-bearing balance of the foot together — aiming for a more stable correction.

However, not every hallux valgus patient is a candidate for the same surgical method. The right treatment plan should be based on physical examination, weight-bearing X-rays, the severity of the deformity, joint condition, and the patient’s daily-life needs.

💬 If you have a painful bunion, shoe discomfort, or difficulty walking, comment FOOT and we will send you more information.

"What happens when blood supply to your bones is cut off?" 🩸💀
The answer: Avascular Necrosis (AVN) - Your bone loses its oxygen and nutrient supply, cells die, and over time, the bone collapses.

This might sound like one of the scariest diagnoses you could hear... But when detected early, it's treatable! 💡

🚨 Could you be at risk?
✓ Are you between 30-50 years old?
✓ Do you use corticosteroids (cortisone) long-term?
✓ Do you consume excessive alcohol?
✓ Have you had a hip/bone fracture?
✓ Do you have conditions like sickle cell anemia or lupus?
✓ Have you received radiation therapy for cancer?

💔 Most commonly affected joints:
→ Hip (most common)
→ Knee
→ Shoulder
→ Wrist
The sneaky part about AVN? Symptoms can be very mild at first - but if left untreated, it leads to progressive joint degeneration and osteoarthritis.

⏰ Important: AVN progresses over time. Early detection is essential to protect your joint health!

Struggling with hip pain but not sure what's causing it? You're not alone! 🤔
Hip pain isn't always straightforward—it can stem from the joint itself, surrounding tissues, your spine, or even systemic conditions. Understanding the cause is the first step to effective treatment!

🔍 Common Causes of Hip Pain:
1️⃣ Musculoskeletal & Joint Issues:

Osteoarthritis (cartilage wear & stiffness)
Labral tears (catching, locking sensation)
FAI - common in athletes
Trochanteric bursitis (outer hip tenderness)
Tendinitis

2️⃣ Trauma & Injuries:
Hip fractures (especially in older adults)
Muscle strains or tears
Hip dislocations (high-impact trauma)

3️⃣ Spine & Nerve-Related:
Lumbar disc herniation
Sciatica (nerve compression)
Piriformis syndrome

4️⃣ Infections & Inflammatory Diseases:
Septic arthritis (fever + severe pain)
Rheumatoid arthritis
Ankylosing spondylitis

5️⃣ Other Causes:
Avascular necrosis (bone blood supply loss)
Tumors
Hip dysplasia (congenital)

💡 Key Takeaway:
There's no single cause of hip pain! Early diagnosis is crucial—especially before permanent joint damage occurs. The sooner you identify the problem, the better your treatment outcomes.
Don't wait until the pain becomes unbearable!
Your hip health matters. Let's find the root cause together and get you back to pain-free movement! 💪

🎯 Torn rotator cuff? Minimally invasive repair can get your shoulder moving again.

Arthroscopic surgery uses just a few small incisions and a tiny camera to reattach the damaged tendon securely to the humerus—often as a same-day outpatient procedure.
Pain and swelling are normal at first, but most patients see steady improvement with the right rehab plan.

👉 Don’t let shoulder pain limit your nights or your daily life.
📩 Message us for an expert second opinion or MRI review and learn if arthroscopic repair is the right option for you.
