Dear Parents,
It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Camp Founder, Mr. Earl Selwyn Athelston Stephens (ESAS).
Mr. Stephens founded Camp ESAS in July 2008 as a vacation sports camp for children between the ages of 4 and 14 years. During his tenure as the Physical Education Teacher at Bishop Anstey Junior School (2003β2019), he recognized the importance of keeping children physically active and inspiring them to develop healthy lifestyles. His vision lives on through the camp and its enduring motto: "Catch the athletic spirit, build a healthy society."
Mr. Stephens will be laid to rest on Friday, 7 August 2026, with the funeral service commencing at 9:30 a.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, Marli Street, Newtown, followed by a repast at Bishop Anstey Junior School.
Please be advised that Camp ESAS will be closed on Friday, 7 August 2026 to allow campers, parents, staff, and friends the opportunity to pay their respects.
All are welcome to attend the service and join us in celebrating Mr. Stephens' remarkable life and legacy.
We thank you for your understanding, support and prayers during this difficult time.
Warmest Regards,
Christine Rose-Stephens
