Honoured to present at the T&TMA (Trinidad & Tobago Medical Association) on the evolving role of Vascular and Interventional Radiology in modern patient care.

The session focused on the diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment of venous and arterial disease, including the growing impact of image-guided therapies in patients with diabetes and peripheral vascular disease.

It was a privilege to engage with colleagues and share insights on how interventional radiology continues to improve outcomes, reduce recovery times, and expand treatment options for patients across the region.

Thank you to the T&TMA for the invitation and to everyone who attended and contributed to the discussion.

Varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) are common conditions that may cause symptoms such as leg pain, swelling, heaviness, itching, skin changes, or visible enlarged veins.

Modern treatment options such as Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) and sclerotherapy are minimally invasive procedures that can help improve symptoms and quality of life with little downtime.

At Caribbean Radiology, patients undergo a detailed ultrasound assessment to evaluate vein function and determine the most appropriate treatment approach.

CT-guided epidural foraminal injections are available for the management of back pain with radiculopathy (nerve-related leg pain).

This is a minimally invasive procedure performed under CT guidance, allowing accurate placement of medication around the affected nerve root.

It may be considered in patients with disc herniation, spinal stenosis, or persistent nerve root irritation.

Procedures are done on an outpatient basis.
