Whether you would like to address skin concerns like stretch marks, or cellulite, or you’re simply wishing your skin was more supple and hydrated, we’ll fill you in on how to tend to your skin and why we opt for organic options when possible.
So, what exactly is organic skin care?
We get it — the term organic often brings a "bouji" image to mind. The concept of using organic ingredients is actually pretty simple though, and we're here to bring it back to the basics. In skin care, organic means that as few as possible artificial colorants, fragrances, or preservatives are used.
Our favorite organic skin care line, Eminence Organics, boasts of their products: “We believe in providing the best skin care products possible. Our products are proudly free of parabens, animal by-products, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, harmful colorants and fragrances, mineral oils, petroleum, and other harsh cosmetic chemicals.” They continue— “As an alternative to harsh pesticides, the farm uses herbal teas and plant friendly honey traps from local bees as natural insect repellents ensuring that all Biodynamic® ingredients are farmed as naturally as possible.”
So, why does this all matter anyway? The skin is our largest organ, and it absorbs all that we put onto it — chemicals that our bodies don't know how to process, and all. This is why more and more consumers are choosing organic skincare when feasible.
Treating stretch marks
Stretch marks are a type of scar formed from the skin stretching or tightening in a short time frame. These pesky marks can be frustrating and are often difficult to treat. The younger stretch marks are, the more effective treatments tend to be, so it’s best to treat them right away. Eminence Stone Crop Body Oil is a miracle product for treating stretch marks. This is a lightweight body oil, but it’s known as a heavy hitter in the beauty industry. Stone Crop is rich in antioxidants to smooth skin, and is known for its soothing, brightening, and anti-inflammatory properties. Other ingredients include rosehip oil, avocado oil, Indian gooseberry oil, and arnica to brighten, tone, heal, and soften the skin while fading stretch marks.
Treating dry skin
Dry skin can be caused by a variety of factors—including living in a dry climate, change in temperature, lack of topical moisturizers, and of course—our least favorite culprit: genetics.
One of our all-time favorite ways to treat dry skin is to incorporate Eminence’s Apricot Body Oil, because it leaves the skin hydrated, supple, and glowing. This award-winning oil is noted as a favorite by Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire. After using it, we can absolutely see why! Oils derived from pomegranate, (which contain antioxidant levels higher than green tea) apricot kernel (high in Vitamin A, C, and E), grape seed, and jojoba, leave the skin seriously radiant. For soft, supple skin, warm this oil in your hands and apply to the skin, or add two capsules to your bath for an out-of-this-world soak.
Treating cellulite
If you're dealing with cellulite, we urge you, beauty, do not beat yourself up. Did you know 80-90% of women might experience cellulite during their life? Cellulite is an uneven texture on the skin, most often on the thighs and tummy. These indentations on the skin can be a skin concern for all body types.
Effective cellulite treatments can be hard to find, which is why we were so excited to experience the effective results of Eminence Stone Crop Contouring Body Cream. This stuff is seriously concentrated to ensure real results. Coffee and microalgae extracts stimulate, tighten, and tone, while stonecrop and shea butter (high in fatty acids,) heal dry skin. Formulated with caffeine to rid the skin of cellulite, this body cream truly delivers! For best results, use after lightly exfoliating.
Treating aging skin
Environment and lifestyle can easily contribute to aged skin. To turn back the clock, spice up your routine with Eminence Eminence Cinnamon Paprika Body Lotion. This spicy treatment is hot, hot, hot — formulated to increase blood flow to leave the skin feeling detoxified. Cinnamon and paprika invigorate and revitalize the skin, while carrot and calendula nourish and hydrate. For those that want to gradually incorporate this stimulating treatment, it can be diluted with water for a more mild sensation.
