Dear colleagues!

The 94th Congress of the European Atherosclerosis Society began on May 24, 2026 and will last until May 27, 2026.
We are closely following the reports at the plenary and section meetings, educational seminars and workshops. We invite you to the next meeting of the Ukrainian Lipid School, which will be held on May 27, 2026 at 3:30 PM on the topic "Latest advances in cardiovascular risk prevention: a first look at the EAS Congress, 2026", where we will share our first impressions of the analysis of the latest achievements in the field of lipid-lowering therapy, the formation and prevention of cardiovascular risk, the role of the liver in the formation of dyslipidemias and the latest developments in the field of cardiometabolic risk.

The most exciting part should begin on May 24, 2026!
We await the European Atherosclerosis Society Congress,2026 in Athens. . Not only researchers are awaiting, but so are clinicians. Currently, clinicians face a challenging task: in 2025, Focused Update of the 2019 ESC/EAS Guidelines for the management of Dyslipidaemias were released. These amendments changed only parts of the Guidelines, not all of them. Furthermore, they are based on SCORE2 and SCORE2-OP instead of the original SCORE in the 2019 Guidelines, which changed the approach to risk assessment (instead of the risk of fatal events, it is proposed to use the sum of fatal and non-fatal events; and to use non-HDL cholesterol instead of total cholesterol).
There is currently no unified document.
That is why the is preparing a , which will combine all three sources (2019 Guidelines, SCORE2 and SCORE2-OP and 2025 Focused Update of the 2019 ESC/EAS Guidelines).

On April 22, 2026, the Ukrainian Atherosclerosis Society held a major Conference with international participation “Ukraine and Europe: Uniting Hearts”, within the framework of which the National Webinar from of the was held on the topic «Clinical staging to guide management of metabolic disorders and their sequelae: a European Atherosclerosis Society consensus statement, 2025». During the Conference, a comprehensive discussion of the problems of cardiometabolic risk formation was held with the participation of the Past-President of the European Atherosclerosis Society, and the first author of this Consensus Statement, , as well as leading domestic specialists.
After the lectures, there was an interesting discussion with regarding whether treatment targets for non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in patients with high triglyceride levels should be introduced into the European Guidelines?

22 квітня 2026 року Українське товариство з атеросклерозу провело велику Конференцію з міжнародною участю «Україна і Європа: єднаємо серця» в рамках якої відбувся Національний Вебінар від Європейського товариства з атеросклерозу на тему «Клінічне стадіювання для лікування метаболічних розладів та їх наслідків: консенсусна заява Європейського товариства з атеросклерозу, 2025». Під час проведення Конференції було проведено всебічне обговорення проблем формування кардіометаболічного ризику за участю Екс-Президента Європейського товариства з атеросклерозу та першого автора даної Консенсусної заяви , , а такж провідних вітчизняних спеціалістів.
Після завершення лекцій відбулась цікава дискусія з проф. відносно того, чи слід запровадити в Європейські рекомендації цільові рівні лікування для холестерину не-ліпопротеїнів високої щільності у пацієнтів з високими рівнями тригліцеридів ?

Dear colleagues!

On April 22, 2026, UAS is holding a major Conference with international participation “Ukraine and Europe: Uniting Hearts” within the framework of which a Joint Meeting-Webinar of the Ukrainian Atherosclerosis Society and the Lipid Clinics Network of the European Atherosclerosis Society will be held on the topic «Clinical staging to guide management of metabolic disorders and their sequelae: a European Atherosclerosis Society consensus statement, 2025» During the Conference, a comprehensive discussion of the problems of cardiometabolic risk formation will be held with the participation of the Ex-President of the European Atherosclerosis Society Prof. Kausik Ray and the first author of this Consensus Statement Prof. Stefano Romeo, as well as leading domestic specialists.
The Conference will be held online/offline from 10:00 to 17:00 at the Rus Hotel, Fortress Hall, Kyiv. After the conference, participants will be able to take tests and receive Certificates. Admission is free.

22 квітня 2026 року УТА вже другий рік поспіль проводить велику Конференцію з міжнародною участю «Україна і Європа: єднаємо серця» в рамках якої відбудеться Спільне засідання-Вебінар Українського товариства з атеросклерозу та Мережі Ліпідних Клінік Європейського товариства з атеросклерозу на тему «Клінічне стадіювання для лікування метаболічних розладів та їх наслідків: консенсусна заява Європейського товариства з атеросклерозу, 2025». Під час проведення Конференції буде проведено всебічне обговорення проблем формування кардіометаболічного ризику за участю Екс-Президента Європейського товариства з атеросклерозу проф. Kausik Ray та першого автора даної Консенсусної заяви проф. Stefano Romeo, а такж провідних вітчизняних спеціалістів.
Конференція буде проведена онлайн/офлайн з 10.00 до 17.00 в готелі «Русь», зал «Фортеця», м.Київ. Після закінчення конференції учасники зможуть пройти тестування та отримати Сертифікати з балами БПР. Вхід вільний.

Dear colleagues!

At the beginning of the year, the President of the European Atherosclerosis Society, Professor Børge G. Nordestgaard, addressed me as the President of the Ukrainian Atherosclerosis Society and the National Leader of Lipid Clinics in Ukraine with the aim of holding a Joint webinar with the European Atherosclerosis Society dedicated to the implementation of the latest Consensus on Cardiometabolic Systemic Disorders, in which I had the honor to participate.
Currently, the Ukrainian Atherosclerosis Society is actively preparing for the annual international conference “Ukraine and Europe: Uniting Hearts”, which will be held on April 22, 2026 in online/offline format. This year, the main topic is “The Problem of Cardio-Reno-Metabolic Risk in Ukraine and Europe”.
The joint webinar of the European Atherosclerosis Society Lipid Clinics Network (EAS-LCN) and the Ukrainian Atherosclerosis Society will be held on April 22, 2026 from 11:00 to 12:00 Kyiv time (10:00 to 11:00 Central European Summer Time (CEST)). It will be dedicated to a comprehensive discussion of the latest EAS Consensus Document: “ Clinical staging to guide management of metabolic disorders and their sequelae: a European Atherosclerosis Society consensus statement” -https://doi.org/10.1093/eurheartj/ehaf314
