ENLARGED PROSTATE (BPH)
What is it?
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland that becomes increasingly common as men get older. As the prostate enlarges, it can interfere with the normal flow of urine.
⚠️ Common symptoms
Premature ejaculations, weak erections, Frequent urination especially at night; sudden urgency to urinate; difficulty starting urine; weak or interrupted urine stream; straining to urinate; dribbling after urination; and feeling that the bladder has not emptied completely.
🚨 What can happen if severe BPH is neglected?
Some men can develop acute urinary retention, being unable to urinate at all. Other complications can include recurrent urinary infections, bladder stones, blood in the urine, bladder damage and, in severe obstruction, kidney problems.
Don’t keep guessing or waiting for the symptoms to become severe. Come and get checked early. A checkup helps us establish the cause and severity and determine the appropriate treatment.
