Slowly but surely Im already trying to get ready for next March. Recently I have been trying to push myself, not just for my physical health, but my mental wellbeing too. The weather in west central Texas has been horrible this month, which takes a toll. I do hope everyone is doing well, and getting through these crazy times.

Always,
Kyle

This page was started because I wanted to ride my bike a long long ways and help do some stuff and things that maybe help some people along the way. I realize that I’ve never even posted a picture of my bike. So, here it is:

We named her Birdie, and I got here used her in Abilene at BikeTown. She has taken me right at around 3000 miles in 2 years. I’ve done some things here and there, maintenance, only replaced 2 tires and 3 tubes, and recently installed some aero bars. I have never once been upset and blamed something on the bike, because nothing has ever been wrong with her. Needless to say, she has become more than just a “bike” and there maybe some…..a lot of sentimental value with her.

This picture came up in my memories on my Facebook. A memory from 7 years ago, that today we announced to the world we were expecting our 2nd child, (we didn’t know the gender yet) which was our sweet girl Vera.

I know have we haven’t been posting lately, but that has a lot to do with life lately. It doesn’t mean we have forgotten, it doesn’t mean our mission is done, or will ever be done. Again to everyone thanks for being here, sticking with us and supporting us, especially for Vera.

Part 2/2

I have been wanting to do a video about this for sometime, however it has taken me a while to gather my thoughts and formulate how I was going to do it.
This video is split into 2 parts and will cover depression and suicidal ideation/suicide. This is a very personal thing for me and I am being very open about my story. This is meant to be insightful and perhaps help someone who had struggled with this or has someone who they love who has experienced this.

I know it’s been a while since anything has been posted and we do apologize for that. Life takes its turns and has its ups and downs, but nevertheless we are still here!

I just wanted to give an update, on how things are going. The last time anything was posted i told everyone that I still wanted to continue riding for Vera, I just didn’t have any set goals. After focusing on my riding for the last month and doing some research, I’ve realized that right now, if I wanted to, I could compete in amateur races / benefits rides. Perhaps, that could be the next goal for us and being more awareness for Vera and everything surrounding.

Be it, I do not have a high end bike, less expensive Amazon riding gear, DIY bike maintenance, and days that are much more trying than others. After 6 months of working toward the ride in March and the last 6 weeks of riding 4 days a week this is where I stand. At an average of 17.1 mph over an average of 16 miles. I’ve had some rides of 12 miles that are 18.5mph or greater.

I want to keep this going. For her.

Always
-Kyle
