Association for Adults with Developmental Disabilities' (AADD) mission is to provide education, discussion, and social activities that empower adults with developmental disabilities to live more independent lives while helping to support caregivers and helping to increase acceptance of special needs in our community. AADD creates secure environments where members develop the vital skills for lifel

ong independence—from employment, healthy eating, arranging transportation and managing personal finances, to forming and maintaining friendships and understanding the intricacies of public etiquette. Our programs help members break the chains of social isolation as they learn to maneuver through our complex world, helping them gain the self-confidence, pride, and greater independence that can lead to a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.

🇺🇸☀️ What a fantastic day at the JCHAI Annual Summer Barbecue! ☀️🇺🇸

Yesterday, more than 100 AADD and JCHAI members and staff came together to celebrate summer, friendship, and community with a special patriotic theme honoring America’s 250th anniversary.

The day was filled with great food, laughter, music, and fun! A huge thank you to Chef David and his team for an incredible barbecue feast, and to DJ Neil from Celebrations for keeping the energy high and the music flowing all afternoon.

Members enjoyed inflatable basketball and axe-throwing games, a creative art project, and plenty of time to connect with friends old and new. And, as always, Tammy had the dance floor moving from the very first song!

Events like these remind us that community is about more than programs—it’s about belonging, friendship, and creating joyful memories together.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this special day such a success. We can’t wait to do it again next year! ❤️🤍💙

Yesterday, 56 AADD & JCHAI members and staff enjoyed an incredible day at the Trenton Thunder’s Disability Awareness & Inclusion Game against the State College Spikes.

The excitement started before the first pitch when our group was invited onto the field, giving everyone a chance to experience the ballpark from a whole new perspective. From there, it was a day filled with fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories.

While the Thunder didn’t come away with the win, we definitely did! We enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch, gorgeous weather, and the opportunity to celebrate inclusion and community together.

One of the highlights of the day was spending time with our dear friends Cole, Sully, and their humans from Cole the Deaf Dog & Friends. We were also thrilled to meet Rookie, one of the Thunder’s beloved Bat Dogs, who is 12 years old and preparing for retirement after an amazing career. We also enjoyed visits from Cloud Man and Boomer throughout the game.

Our group even had the opportunity to participate in the 7th Inning Stretch with Boomer, bringing plenty of smiles and excitement to an already fantastic afternoon.

A special thank you to the Trenton Thunder for hosting such a wonderful event that celebrates disability awareness, inclusion, and belonging. Days like these remind us that community is strongest when everyone is welcomed and included.

I had a great day hanging out with my friends Rookie and Dash, the bat dogs for the Trenton Thunder minor league baseball team.⚾️ Sullivan and I got to spend the game with an incredible Adults with Disabilities group. The best part of the day is how excited they all were when I came onto the field.🌟 This journey is so awesome because we’ve made countless wonderful friendships from all walks of life. ❤️🤟

On Saturday, members of AADD & JCHAI had a wonderful day together enjoying a delicious Wawa hoagie lunch before heading to the Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens. Members learned about the incredible art of mosaics and the inspiring story of artist Isaiah Zagar, including that it took him over 30 years to complete the Magic Garden.

Everyone enjoyed exploring the vibrant outdoor and indoor mosaic installations, viewing the current exhibit Between Roots & Wings by Santiago Galeas, and creating their own mini mosaic projects to take home. It was a fun, creative, and educational day filled with art, friendship, and community!

Friendship blossomed at the Saft Spring Fling for over 70 members and guests of AADD and JCHAI on Sunday!
Everyone enjoyed a delicious multi-course lunch with choice of entree followed by an indulgent ice cream sundae bar with fresh fruit and all the toppings imaginable. DJ Neal kept everyone in the groove with great music with lots of requests from members of their favorite hits. Whether dancing or just sitting back with friends and enjoying great music, there was something for everyone.
Folks came dressed to impress in their finest attire which made for fantastic moments at the photo booth!
The afternoon concluded with our traditional group dance to “That’s What Friends Are For” and a contest to see who would take home the beautiful flower centerpieces.
Sincere thanks to the Saft family for their support in bringing our Spring Fling event to life - special events like this one provide unique opportunities for our members to come together and celebrate friendship, community, and belonging all while making lasting memories 💐

⚾️ What a day at the ballpark!

48 members and staff from AADD & JCHAI had an amazing time cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies this Saturday as they took home a 4–3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks!

From classic stadium eats to the 7th inning stretch, the day was filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable moments. Nothing beats spending time together and rooting for our Fightin’ Phils! ❤️
