He gave her everything… so why did she want a divorce?
She was the one who called me first, exhausted but still deeply in love with her husband
He was a good man, successful, generous and a strong provider, yet emotionally she felt controlled rather than free
He did not want counseling at first, but I invited him to come as he was, without judgment, and I wanted to hear his side too
He came
During one of our sessions she began crying and finally shared what she had carried inside for years
He looked at her and said, “Why didn’t you tell me when it happened? Why are you telling Yael all of this now?”
That became the turning point
She had been expecting him to understand her silence and distance, while he thought she was tired, stressed or simply going through something
I told them something I deeply believe:
Your partner cannot repair a wound they do not know they created
She learned to speak sooner, he learned to listen before defending himself, and over time he understood that much of his control came from fear and old family patterns
The more freedom she felt, the closer she became to him
Today they are still together and doing beautifully
To the men who hesitate about counseling, coming does not mean you failed. Sometimes it simply means, “I love this person enough to understand what I may not be seeing”
I have always felt that healing is part of my soul, whether I am helping couples, guiding people through difficult seasons, or creating art
I thank God for choosing me to guide couples and people back to love, trust, confidence, peace and understanding ❤️
